No anticipation on DU for the last debate?
Two days before each of the first three debates DU was full of anticipation. Now...not much talk about it.

2. Well, mccain said he was gonna
kick Obama's "you-know-what," so I'm sure we've all just given up and thrown in the towel.

3. The first two were somewhat boring and changed nothing whatsoever.
The third will likely be the same, which is good news.

4. Obama just needs to play Dean Smith's 4 Corner Defense...
I really don't see chances from Obama. I see McCain going off and doing all sorts of weird shit while Obama sits there, smiles, and covers his talking points.

...then have to leave early again.

Pleeeeeeeeze.

I agree the 1st two have been dull.

And who's idea was it for the stage design?

I don't want the same set (or the appearance, there of,) for each debate.

That is something that made the Democratic primary season so much fun.

Feisty and knowledgeable opponents and a FREAKING change of scenery.

6. Not really much to be excited about really
The first two debates were just 2 guys trying to make sure they didn't commit a gaffe that would blow up in their faces. Other than McCain's surprise 300 billion he tossed in out of the blue in the second debate everything was pretty much what each had said countless times before. Fairly tame and slightly boring so far.

7. Lotsa ticipation.
Nervous. Wondering what Johnny's gonna pull next. Can't wander, a guy told me, because they'll be at a table together.

Will McSame call Obama by name this time? Will he deign to look at him?

11. I know one thing, Obama knows how to push McCain's buttons
He does it so well. Then old McNasty gets all angry and starts foaming at the mouth, then he looks like a fool, and Obama sits there just as composed as can be.

Obama's bagged McCain in the last two debates (even in areas that were supposed to be advantageous to McCain) by a pretty clear margin and will probably do so again in this debate.

Frankly, I don't know why we need to have a third debate, particularly since the second debate ended up being largely a retread of the first debate between them and, to some degree, the VP debate. Unless McCain successfully pulls some kind of stunt (that actually damages Obama), I'm not even sure what the significance of it will end up being in the long run.

While I hesitate to say that Obama's victory is certain (nothing is certain with these f****** in charge!) I don't think McCain is going to do anything that will change the trajectory of his campaign or at least I can't think of anything at the moment. McCain has been pretty aggressive towards Obama in the past two debates and Obama has been able to easily deflect his arguments and appear calm and Presidential and Obama seems to be FULLY prepared (and maybe even eager) to take McCain on if he tries any scurrilous smears (Ayers, Wright, Rezko, etc.) against him (which in and of itself will only further harm McCain), so..............?????

I'm going to watch it like I have the last 3 debates but I honestly am not that worried about it like I was the previous two debates. I know that Obama is and will be fully prepared to do battle with McCain face to face again and emerge triumphant. Not only that but IMHO Obama doesn't need to deliver a "knockout" blow to McCain, particularly since McCain/Palin managed to do WAY more damage to themselves than we could EVER hope Obama or anybody else could do to them. IMHO Obama really just needs to avoid making any serious gaffes, which I'm sure he will.

Is there something in particular that you are worried about (not that I'm completely free of anxiety myself)?

15. It's gotten to be old hat for me:
Turn on the computer-go to DU-find thread with list of polls-vote for Obama in each and every poll listed, (plus 20 times on the fox-poll)-go to bed thoroughly exhausted yet pleased at how well my nominee did in those polls-tune back in to DU the next day to find out what mCcain or palin screwed up the night before.

Been there done that three times so far but the DU can count me in again...once more unto the breech and all that.

17. People will start buzzing on Tuesday and Wednesday...
There are just too many crazy things going on in this election.

I was hoping McCain would lunge for Obama and have to be carried out of the last debate, and that obviously didn't happen. McCain doesn't look so angry lately, so the 3rd debate should be rather uneventful. I seriously doubt he'll kick Obama's you-know-what.

20. What's to anticipate?
McCain will lie like a junkie and ride the edge of losing his temper without actually freaking out, and the useless moderator will let McCain walk all over the time limits, but in the end, Obama will calmly outclass McCain with his message discipline and unshakable sangfroid. I'm going to try to talk the people I'll be with into watching Mythbusters instead.
