Tommy Thompson turns on McCain campaign
Madison (WKOW) -- from wisdems.org: Former Governor Tommy G. Thompson issued a stunning rebuke of John McCain's presidential campaign in an interview printed in The New York Times Sunday, revealing that he doesn't know a single person in Wisconsin who is happy with the McCain campaign.

When asked if he was happy with the campaign, he simply replied, "No."

"Last week Tommy Thompson got an up close and personal look at John McCain's low-road campaign and he didn't like what he saw," said Joe Wineke, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair. "Tommy Thompson knows just as well as anyone in Wisconsin that voters are craving steady leadership and real solutions in a time of economic crisis, not the disgusting, false character attacks that John McCain is leveling on Barack Obama."

Thompson's revelation followed a two day, three-stop McCain-Palin swing through Wisconsin, in which the former Governor served as McCain's warm-up-act.

1. Meh, Tommy is a slimey asswipe no matter if he backs McCain or not
The only good thing to come out of the W years was that he scooped up Thompson and vacated his long-time hold on the governership of Wisconsin so that we could finally get a Dem in charge.

8. No arguement there.
But if he can swing votes to Obama, he's a plain old asswipe, not a slimey one.

2. Dang, I so wish I'd saved that video of McCain's Wisconsin speech from last week.
Tommy Thompson was over McCain's shoulder, as McCain began talking about his mortgage renegotiation plan, and Thompson's seemed to cringe and then leaned over to say something to the guy sitting next to him. My impression was that Thompson wasn't impressed with what McCain was saying.

4. Yeah, I didn't recognize him. But Tommy T. *so* seemed to be having a negative reaction ...
... to McCain's comments.

5. How about when everyone else was applauding but he had his arms folded?
Go to Wisconsin Eye Sometime after the hour mark is the part. About the 1:12 or 1:13 mark he starts stroking his chin and it all starts.

7. Thanks for the link. The passage I noticed starts at 1:01:45
Thompson claps but his face sure went through some contortions while McCain was outlining his home mortgage refinancing plan.

10. Actually it gets even better, Charlie Christ blew him off as well
he went to Disney World. Good old Crist doesn't want to tarnish his image if he decides to run in 2012.
