I live in McCain's "hometown"...I stopped at DEM HQ today
to snag some Obama goodies...the tiny office was jammed with people.

There were some lovely ladies of color from CA who were getting lots of Obama signs & pins to take back to CA with them. They thought it was quite interesting that there are so many Obama signs all over town. They noticed the Obama rally in town yesterday and decided to stop by the office.

The woman tending the office mentioned how they got people in just today from Canada and Boston. She also mentioned that they have been having people stop in from all over the country. (We are a tourist town.) She said that they comment on the fact there are so many Obama signs and so few McCain signs.

She also told me that Obama signs were being stolen along the main road- it seemed to start when McCain & Palin came back to the ranch. I'm sure it pissed him off to drive to his home and having to pass all the Obama signs....he probably had his minions "remove" them.

I live in a tiny circle with 5 houses..we have 2 Obama/Biden signs in our circle...zero McCain. :)

I also see WAY more Obama bumperstickers than MCain on all the tourist traffic going through here....in fact, I have seen only a very few McCain ones.

Just thought I'd share. :)

1. I hate to kick my own thread.....
but what the heck....more Obama signs in McCain's hometown than his own? I think that is pretty telling.

GOBAMA :woohoo:

2. I'd love to see him lose his home state....
if that is even remotely possible. Thanks for sharing.

10. It's unlikely, but the Obama/Biden effect is going to matter in important local races.
Even our incumbent republicans are having to go against some tough challengers backed by the 50 state strategy. Even if our Dems lose, the status quo of kowtowing to the republican base may change--my disgusting Rep, Shadegg, is emphasizing the precious few votes he's NOT gone along with the RNC on.

That's a HUGE switch that indicates he feels threatened.

12. I am holding out the hope it is possible.....
but I'm an optimist.

My rep is -WAS- Rick Renzi....not sure who is worse- Renzi or Shaddegg. Both pretty disgusting.

I'll try to check in with my friend up on the Navajo rez...they could play a big part...I guess our bluest areas are Tucson, Flag & the Rez.....

4. Imagine--we have an official Obama office right here in AZ!
I went to the opening and met lots of really nice, hardworking people who hope to make the downticket races matter! I like the looks of Arizona in BLUE. It's going to take a while, but it's going to happen!

7. I met some nice people from your town in Chicago last spring.
It was in early June, before the end of the primaries. They were an older couple sitting near me in a restaurant, and we started talking about the election. They said that they would vote for whomever won the Democratic primary. They're Jewish, so I was interested in this, since some folks were saying that Jewish people would be reluctant to support Obama if he won the nomination. They mentioned that all their relatives would also support Obama if he won the nomination, except maybe their daughter, who was a little unsure. I kind of doubt that anything McCain has done since then - notably choosing Palin - has encouraged the daughter to support McCain. I figure that this couple and their family are probably very enthusiastic about Obama right now, since they were already enthusiastic about him before he even won the primaries.

I think it's possible that McCain will lose his home state. That would be sweet.

9. The California women
are bringing those signs back here because we are having a terrible time getting them. Being a blue state means we don't get loaded w/ campaign swag.

11. Thats sort of what I figured.
The DORR (Dems of the Red Rocks) folks mentioned having a hard time keeping Obama stuff in stock.

I love it!
