In some states, the election has already started - Is yours one? Check in!
I'm noticing a few folks talking about how far away the election seems. Folks, Georgia has already started voting. Lots of other states start voting NEXT WEEK. In some areas, up to HALF the voters go to vote during early voting. Think about what this means for election day. By time we get to Nov. 4, thousands of votes will already be in the bag-- for Obama! :D

The following states permit no excuse, in-person early voting at election offices and, in some states, other satellite locations.

Alaska
Arizona
Arkansas
California
Colorado
Florida
Georgia
Hawaii
Idaho
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Kansas
Louisiana
Maine
Montana
Nebraska
Nevada
New Mexico
North Carolina
North Dakota
Oklahoma
Ohio
South Dakota
Tennessee
Texas
Utah
Vermont
West Virginia
Wisconsin
Wyoming

1. Any time now.
We should be receiving our ballots any day. We get them a couple of weeks before election day. We can mail them back, or drop them off at a drop box at any point from then until election day.

I'm ready to go; no hanging on to this one until the last minute.

2. Many states that don't allow it are blue states
The GOP is claiming that Obama is "peaking too early." Actually, Obama's doing great at the time of early voting. Many of the states that don't allow early voting (such as NY, NJ, Conn., OR and Mass.) are solidly blue.

PA. and Minn. are two of the few battleground states that doesn't allow any early voting.

5. I voted over a week ago
It felt great!

There have been stories here of a very large early vote turnout already.

6. I wish Maryland had early voting. Just think: all those who are volunteering in VA from MD
could vote early so that they don't have to worry about it on Election Day and can travel to VA instead to help voters get to the polls. Now me and my friends are getting up early to stand in lines and vote in MD. This state's electoral rules make no sense sometimes.

7. Just be there at the crack of dawn on election day.
Polls open at 7, yes? I'd get there at 6:30 just to be sure. Lord, those lines before work really do get long. :D

14. Yeah, I plan to get there pretty early...more like 6:00. That's how long I expect lines to be
I could've been traveling to VA and beating the traffic, but NAW...I have to stand in line in MD because their electoral laws suck!

Anyway, I am expect a great day! ;)

8. NC starts in 2 days - AND YOU CAN STILL REGISTER
Some may not know that if you vote early in NC, you can register to vote at the same time you vote.

Oct 16 - Nov 1.

10. Georgia
We're voting today. Not that a Dem vote for Pres. in GA really matters, but it might matter to vote against Sen. Saxby Chambliss who is some trouble. And I want the honor of voting for Obama.

And even on the first day, there was quite a crowd at the polling place where I voted. :-)

13. I voted yesterday
It was great. I voted for kerry in 2004 but wasn't really excited about it. I was actually excited voting for Obama in this election though.
