1. And that sounds like a BEST-case scenario.
Scary!

2. It would scare me if I thought it had a chance of happenning.

3. Back in 1999
if you had told me what would transpire over the next nine years, I would have tried to have you committed.

There was no chance the Republicans would openly steal an election with the help of the Supreme Court.

There was no chance that we would go to war with a country that hadn't attacked us based on lies.

There was no chance that the president would ignore warnings of a major terrorist attack against the country.

There was no chance our huge surplus would be turned into a massive deficit.

There was no chance our prosperity could turn into an economic meltdown.

There was no chance that torture would become official government policy.

There is no chance the government would be allowed to spy on ordinary citizens.

At least, that's what I would have told you.

Do you want to have a discussion about what has a chance of happening?

4. All of those things are a lot more likely than Todd Palin becoming VP after Sarah becomes pres.
Which is what my point is. I know that the country has fallen into chaos at the hands of the Repubs. Still, what really should scare anyone away from voting McCain/Palin is this scenario:

McCain/Palin elected
McCain dies in office, Palin becomes president
Palin declares The Rapture is upon us, and acts on it with nuclear weapons.

That's plenty!

5. You say that now, but
if anyone had predicted those to you in 1999, you would have laughed them out of the room.

6. No, I don't think so
Really, I think the mood of the country was really swinging rightward hard in the late 90's, and I began to see people that were nothing but Might Makes Right assholes that would say whatever the Repubs did was OK, because they could.
