Still waiting for a Obama Yard Sign? Make your own!
Edited on Tue Oct-14-08 10:14 AM by goclark
My California neighborhood is very creative.

When I take my morning walk I am seeing the cutest signs for Obama made by families.

Cute sign with a Halloween flavor - " Get a Treat,Vote for Obama!"

Kid painted sign that says " My Mama's For Obama" and in little letters "My Daddy too."

One family has one of those huge posters with Obama's face taking up a big space on their living room window. The beauty of that one is that it is a corner house on a busy street and hundreds of cars pass by each day.

Anyone else making their own signs?

1. I've seen several handmade Obama signs around Portland.
One was a big banner on a beautiful old house -- "Kids for Obama!" It was very colorful and the writing was, well, kid-like. Cute.

We took a driving trip around the state and my son made a big "Obama '08" sign for the back of the vehicle.

5. Funny - that should make the kids run pass your house
real fast.

They may not even stop for their treats!

3. That's what I like --- it also helps to get the kids involved
in politics.

If I had kids now I would round up all their friends (with permission from their parents of course) and have an Obama sign making party.

I bet your son will remember making that sign for many years to come.

PS/ this would also be a good time to have a Kid sign that says, " Don't Forget To Vote for Obama!"

8. Exactly!

In fact, at this point in the game,we need to show that we are really excited!

I'm also trying to think of a way to attach something cute to my regular Obama sign that says " VOTE NOW!"

13. Great idea! It's not too late to print those logos
and decorate those signs with a Halloween touch.

Make a extra sign for the last 4 days of the campaign - after Halloween.

Need some ideas for neighbors that say, something like{"Only 12(and keep changing each day - 11,10 days etc) TO VOTE for OBAMA"

Fired Up and Ready To Go!

17. I printed a few of those the other day and put one on my front gate.
I fully expect to find it ripped off one of these days(as my Kerry/Edwards sign was), but now I've got backups. I printed them on regular paper and put them in a notebook sheet protector and taped the open end to keep moisture out. It's raining today so I'll see how they held up when I get home.

10. not yet
but Halloween is big here, so we will make our usual scarecrow and put an Obama mask on him. My son has a large OBAMA sign in his window which faces the main street.

19. It would be great to find an 8x10 of Obama
for a sign.

I would ring the door bells lots of time for Obama.

15. At least we made our own car stickers...
We had to fire up our Stika vinyl cutter to make window stickers using the free artwork. My wife made two of these last night. It's the only clean area on the back window, BTW.

We had scored one Obama/Biden sticker that lasted about a week . It looked like a typical vinyl bumper sticker, but it had a paper core that disintegrated after a couple rains and separated.

Yard signs are next, but I won't put them out without some sort of "protection".
