McCain Pledges to Bring Up Ayers in Debate
Does anyone else get the feeling that Obama has lured McStupid into a trap?

It appears Sen. John McCain will take Sen. Barack Obama up on his challenge.

In an interview on a St. Louis radio station, McCain said Obama's comments that "I didn't have the guts" to talk about William Ayers in the last presidential debate have "probably ensured" that the former 1960s radical will come up in Wednesday's debate.

1. We know Obama is ready...
Just wonder how hard he's going to hit the old man.

5. Obama doesn't have to hit hard. McCain has overplayed the Ayers thing.
McCain has convinced his followers that Obama is Ayers's best friend and they went bomb throwing together all through the 1960s. Since the truth is totally on our side, all Obama has to do is gently state the truth and that alone will make it look like McCain is backing down. His supporters will be terribly disappointed.

McCain has painted himself into a corner on this and everything else.

4. At this point, I just wonder what Obama's smackdown will be:
I think he'll talk about the Annenberg project and every good Republican connected to it--including McCain's own campaign.

8. McLame is an idiot. Its gonna backfire on him again.
Obama seems more presidential and "less risky" per a poll on CNN the other day. Who is advising his campaign anyways and why is he listening to them? Oh well, thats good for us.

9. Obama should say that he fears McCain...
...will recklessly run over his foot with his Rascal, during the debate.

"He has the 9-volt, and that could easily take off a few toes!"

11. I hope he does.. ONLY if this debate TRULY is a debate this time, and Obama can answer him.
That's been the problem with these fake debates... they are not debates. Unless the candidates can freely have a back and forth... it's nothing more than dueling soundbites. I HOPE that McCranky brings this shit up because Obama can set him and America straight on this bullshit.

Anyone know if this will be a decent debate format this time? Or more uncontested soundbites?

13. He didn't learn from KEATING...
That's exactly how Keating got McCain to go to that meeting on his behalf.. he baited him. He said that he was to "chicken".. and that's exactly what set McCain off in the first place..

Obama's just done the same thing. He's implied that McCain is to chicken.. and McCain is just jumping at the bit. He doesn't learn.. and it's a sad day when a possible POTUS is easily baited with reverse psychology.. that most 8 year olds can circumvent. :eyes:

sprinkled with a Rolling Stones concert.

20. I hope he does. It opens a very wide door for Obama to connect
McBush with Keating and a host of others, while making a joke out of being 8 years old when Ayers was involved in the anti-war movement.

22. Talk about walking into a trap
Does McCain want to lose? Never ever EVER do what your opponent dares you to do!

This is pure desperation on McCain's part. He and his advisers must think that bringing up Ayers on the national stage might give it more traction.

26. The right wing sites are trying to link Obama to Ayers during Obama's college years
They are even saying that Ayers wrote Dreams of my Father. They are also trying to make a connection to a Muslim man who helped him get in Harvard.

I think McCain would try to attack in a way that brings up these latest conspiracy theories.

In Stephanie Miller's show she reported that some in the press saw Hannity on McCain's plane yesterday. He was in the private area of the plane.

It sounds like McCain has gotten desperate enough to rely on talking points from Hannity.

I wonder if the moderator will bring it up? If the moderate doesn't ask a question about Ayers, I wonder how McCain will bring up the topic? If could be a little funny to see him struggling to work Ayers into the conversation.
