Why is Palin still campaignign in Pennsylvania (Obama +15)
They just don't want to admit defeat and give up on that state

1. Palin is Mavericky and marches to the beat of her own drummer
Only problem with that is the drummer is wandering aimlessly in states they have no chance of winning.

That's all they do these days.

7. 1. Let her waste their money - good for us! 2. If she's the best they'll put forth in 2012
they have problems. I don't doubt they'd have the stones to run her again, but it would be interesting to see if she's managed to "learn" anything from this. Save the 2008 footage!

17. No, her type doesn't learn.
"mccain-palin is the only national ticket where "both candidates
were found to have violated ethics standards before a national election."

"A HISTORIC TICKET.... Now that Sarah Palin has been found to have abused her powers, violated state ethics, and lied about it, I did a little digging and found an interesting historical footnote.

The McCain/Palin ticket is the first in American history in which both candidates were found to have violated ethics standards before a national election.

McCain, of course, was admonished by Senate Ethics Committee "for exercising 'poor judgment' for intervening" with federal regulators on behalf of Charles Keating, as part of the infamous Keating Five scandal.

And now McCain's running mate has also been found to have violated state ethics laws and abused the powers of her office, as part of the "Troopergate" scandal.

"The nation has had 102 major-party tickets covering 51 presidential elections over more than two centuries. And we've never had a ticket in which both candidates on the same ticket were responsible for ethics violations before a national election. McCain/Palin is the first."

It makes the whole "reform" pitch a little more difficult, doesn't it?"

22. I meant learn as in gain knowledge to make her remotely competent
so she doesn't come off as the idiot she was with Katie Couric...or so she can hold her own with the 2012 field of Repub candidates.

Ethically, I don't expect her to improve. She's gotten this far being a vindictive, power-abusing slick liar - why stop what works for her?

4. It would make more sense for Obama to campaign in TX than it does for them to campaign in PA
Obama/Biden doing better in Texas than McLam/Bailin do in PA

5. If they gave up PA after conceding MI, they would look very bad.
It would cost them donations and enthusiasm and bring them a lot of bad publicity again.

So it is either symbolic to tell their base: we can still win this thing - or they are simply stupid.

6. Because when they steal it
they can use her late campaigning there as an excuse for the win. Because, after all, those polls are conducted by the LIBERAL MEDIA and can't be trusted! John McCain and Sarah Palin NEVER trusted those polls, doncha know?

27. YEP ...
I knew she wouldn't play here.

I am in central PA, which is R territory mostly, and they LOVE her, but overall, Palin ain't playing well here.

10. I can't STAND the way she sucks her teeth, licks her lips, and says, "YES" while people are cheering
her. And the things she says make no sense, yet she keeps saying them over and over. She sounds and looks like a fool.

16. Why?
They can't win the whitehouse without winning PA. They have to be able to take at least one state won by Kerry and since they have already had to abandon Michigan, PA is now there only hope. I love that thyey are wasting time in PA. The more time wasted in PA, the less time they campaign elsewhere.

18. To win without PA they would have to run all the battlegrounds
I believe that they have given up on NM and at least one other "red" state (Iowa/CO) and need a blue state to make up for it or the math won't work for 270

19. In 04 the chimp appeared several times in the
Scranton/Wilkes Barre area. My uncle who lives there was convinced they were busing people in from elsewhere since no one he know was voting for or could stand the chimp. Isn't one definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result?

PA will easily go Dem. McSame/Palin are wasting their time.

so it made sense for Bush to campaign there. Not so much for McCain/Palin.

28. Put yourself in their shoes
What would you do? You have an almost impossible path to get to 270 electoral votes. You need all the media coverage you can get (and the media is still bending over backward for them) do you go fight in Nevada or Colorado, both Mountain Time, both far from a major media center? Do you go fight in NC, a former extremely safe State? Or do you go to Pennsylvania and fight on Dem turf, close to NYC and DC to get the most media?
