'Kill him,' again

http://www.scrantontimes.com/articles/2008/10/14/news/doc48f4ba8994588930223377.txt">The Times Tribune, covering the crowd awaiting Sarah Palin in Scranton, reports:

Chris Hackett addressed the increasingly feisty crowd as they await the arrival of Gov. Palin.

Each time the Republican candidate for the seat in the 10th Congressional District mentioned Barack Obama, the crowd booed loudly.

One man screamed "kill him!"

Supporters have been noted shouting “kill him,” “terrorist,” “off with his head” and other equally incendiary terms about Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama. Others have directly suggested Mr. Obama is a Muslim, which he is not, or a traitor. Some comments even drew rebuke from Republican presidential nominee John McCain.

Other than the lone man, there were no other such outbursts.

ALSO: http://fromtheleft.wordpress.com/2008/10/11/please-meet-gayle-obama-is-an-arab-quinnell/">A liberal blog has an interview with the Minnesota woman, Gayle Quinnell, who asked McCain if Obama is an Arab.

5. Or he would claim to have heard the same thing at Obama rallies...
That's his new answer to the hate.

Karma, do your work!

11. That is how they can stop this insanity.
Make one example and that will be it. It is funny that these folks can holler this out in public. In private if I have a conversation that could be misconstrued I correct it out loud in case I am being bugged, yet these folks have no fear. I say arrest his *ss and let us hear the whole story. Peace, Kim

16. I don't think condemning is going to help at this point
this fire has been set and it's like a wild fire now, not a house fire that can be contained quickly.

The tone of the crowds is starting to freak me out. There has always been this racist and bigoted rage, stoked by the liberal-bashing of Rush and Sean, seething in the under belly of this country.

Palin and McCain have now tapped into this powder keg and I don't think their condemnations will do a thing to stop it at this point.

18. freaking me out too..
and not in regards to Obama, but in regards to what this country has become. I am not familiar with lynch mobs, and dragging people from their houses in the middle of the night and killing them. I am not familiar with having ones house burned down, or ones church blown up. These people truly are terrorists.

17. I believe It's a crime to conspire violence against an individual.
Edited on Tue Oct-14-08 02:31 PM by Life Long Dem
If they are agreeing to the individual in the crowd inciting this violence, they are agreeing to the act of violence, and that's conspiracy to a crime.
