***** Breaking: A GOP Attorney has turned Absentee Voting into CHAOS*****
Edited on Tue Oct-14-08 02:08 PM by spokane
A dodgy Attorney living outside of his jurisdiction has stop
absentee voting because, he said people would be breaking the
Law for voting outside of the election office.

We need to stop this guy ASAP, they figure no one can touch them
and they feel they can get away with it too.

Calling on all organizers to pass this on and let the South Carolina Obama
campaign know whats going on in this county. (Aiken)

Arlene Childs, of North Augusta, was among them. She had driven to Kalmia Mall, only to be told that the location had been moved to the elections office in Aiken. She said she was not happy about the extra driving.

County Attorney Jim Holly said he spent the weekend reviewing the state statutes on absentee voting and found no mention of changes in location, leading him to assume that it was left out intentionally. "I'm not going to advise this council or any other board to possibly go outside the law," he said.

PLEASE!!!

5. They have been on tv all day long...
talking about it and saying that people shouldn't be able to do absentee voting because they can't show ID. I have been watching the wingnuts for days now and I have been saying to my friends that when they lose they will try to challenge the votes and that is what they are doing with ACORN because they know they are losing.

12. Thank you for the report. I cannot even bear to turn on the TV
The last few times my remote skipped around on channels and landed on CNN, there was reporting covering the "egregious and fruadulent" actions of ACORN.

This is a really scary election. I figure that if they could pull off stealing the elction in 2000, and 2004, they can do it again. They will vary the exact situations, so that their play book this year is different from the others, but steal it they will, or die in the attmepts.

My gut feeling is that some of the bailout monies will go to seeing to it that operatives secure voting machinery and kidnap it until after the election.

27. More republican fun and games in Aiken
Edited on Wed Oct-15-08 06:25 AM by kayell
This story and tactic preceded the change in voting locations. More trying to stop Aiken county voters....so odd. Are republicans really this worried about SC, or is this just an uncontrollable part of their nature? If this is going on in Aiken, SC, how much are we missing that's happening in the rest of the country?

http://chronicle.augusta.com/stories/101308/met_479292.shtml

"Stuart Bedenbaugh, the director of the county voter registration and election office, said his office has mailed out 3,000 absentee ballots.

"It's been quite heavy," he said.

VOTING FAUX PAS

A few voters tried to cast their absentee ballot this past Friday, but were told they would have to wait until 9 a.m. today. Voters in Aiken County received a brochure from the state Republican Party telling them the wrong start date and location for absentee voting.

The state Republican Party "did not consult with us on these mailings," Mr. Bedenbaugh said."

53. Tricky
Having to show Voter ID before may actually be a great thing. Look at this way. We all know Republicans try to steal elections. Just look at Florida. If you have to show proof of who you are then there will more likely be less chance of voter fraud. Might have saved up Florida and the whole mess we've gotten into with "W".
