Tomorrow night, Obama will meet Johnny Ringo at Oak Grove, at the mouth of Silver Spring Canyon...
...and he will END this shit once and for all.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/14/mccain-at-wednesdays-deba_n_134506.html

Taegan Goddard reports that John McCain confirmed this morning he would try to bring up William Ayers at Wednesday's debate. McCain appeared to blame Obama for the move:

In an interview on a St. Louis radio station, McCain said Obama's comments that "I didn't have the guts" to talk about William Ayers in the last presidential debate have "probably ensured" that the former 1960s radical will come up in Wednesday's debate.

The Huffington Post's Seth Colter Walls wrote Monday that Ayers was "expected" to come up at the debate.

When asked if McCain plans to "go after" Obama on these topics this Wednesday, Bounds added: "So much of a debate is determined by the moderator and the questions that are posed to the candidates. I expect it could come up and I expect John McCain will ask Barack Obama to speak truthfully about his relationship with friend and unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers. I think that voters deserve to know, deserve to vet these candidates to the fullest extent... Certainly, Bill Ayers raises questions. Certainly, Tony Rezko raises questions."

If it is McCain's intention to raise the issue of Ayers -- with or without moderator Bob Schieffer's prompting -- it would serve as something of an answered prayer to many of the Arizonan's town hall attendees, one of whom even begged McCain to bring on the character attacks in the last presidential debate of the season.

14. You need to watch the Kurt Russell - Val Kilmer movie "Tombstone"...
...and I say that as someone who has watched it at least 100 times. Seriously. It is perhaps the best movie ever made on the subject of good versus evil and the virtue of loyalty and friendship.

Explaining "I'm your huckleberry" would ruin your experience of watching the film.

21. If I taught a writing class,
I would have my students watch the versions of Tombstone and Wyatt Earp that came out the same year. Their assignment would be to describe what worked and what didn't work in each screenplay. Both movies drew from the same source material, but what a difference in the ways the story got told. Tombstone has narrative drive and each scene is a mini-masterpiece.

Actually, it was the first Val Kilmer performance I had ever scene, and it was so brilliant that I have never wanted to see him in another role.

25. Here's the single most amazing piece of trivia on "Tombstone"...
...George P. Cosmatos, the director, was also responsible for the 1986 Sylvester Stallone / Brigitte Nielsen movie "Cobra." The "catch-phrase" from that film, in case anyone forgets it, was Stallone's "You're the DISEASE...and I'm the CURE."

The fact that Cosmatos went on to become the Captain of the Good Ship Tombstone never fails to FLOOR me. It is virtually a perfect movie. The CASTING DIRECTOR should have won an award, because every actor...from the principals down to the extras...was a PERFECT choice.

But the real power of this movie is that it blows away EVERY convention of what it means to "be a man."

Kurt Russell's Earp is no coward...anyone who believes that he is simply needs to watch him walk straight into the gunfire during his final confrontation with Curly Bill Brocius.

But he has the COURAGE to ask Doc Holliday about the showdown with Johnny Ringo..."I can't win, can I"...and Holliday has the courage to respond with "NO."

And GIVEN ALL OF THAT, Earp shows up ANYWAY. It doesn't matter that Holliday showed up first. It doesn't matter that Holliday put Ringo down. Wyatt Earp showed up with no guarantees that he could win, prepared to fight the fight.

These days McCain is fond of calling himself a "fighter."

But we already HAVE a fighter in this election.

His name is Barack Obama, and he is going to be the next President of the United States.

35. I have both movies...
And I like them both...Val Kilmer played the best Doc Holiday. I did like Cosner's Earp... And I liked the more indepth account of Earp's life in the Film.

The Version Tombstone is my favorite of the two, with the other coming a close second.

5. Good plan? Maybe because McCain won't have to talk about his failures.
McCain and Phil Graham were the ones who brought us this financial disaster through their deregulation ideology. OR we could go back to McCain costing us $1billion in the S&L rip-off.

Do we really want McCain to be president? or even senator?

28. McCain was also not eight years old when Keating committed his crime
That's the critical part of all of this. Ayers is a matter of public record. The part of his history that McCain is ATTEMPTING to ride to the bank happened when Obama was EIGHT YEARS OLD.

McCain KNEW what he was doing, he KNEW it was wrong, and he did it of his own free will as an ADULT.
