If I were McCain's campaign manager, I would feed him that line to say at the debate in reference to the Ayers affair -- a "zinger" that people will remember that would, hopefully, turn the momentum in his favor.

I was thinking of how Axelrod ran wargames before the general campaign, tried to anticipate McCain's tactics, created mock attack ads, etc. I'm quite sure they're preparing for something like this, I'm just hoping they're preparing for the direct assault -- if I were McCain, that's what I'd go with at this point.
