White House Officials Agree That Palin Should Be Off GOP Ticket
Parker: White House Officials Agree That Palin Should Be Off GOP Ticket»

Last month, conservative columnist Kathleen Parker wrote a scathing column saying that Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) is “way out of her league” as the GOP’s vice presidential candidate and called on the Alaska governor to “bow out” of the race in order to “save McCain, her party, and the country she loves.”

Parker has subsequently noted angry responses from conservatives around the country. “To the GOP base, predictably, I’m a traitor,” Parker wrote.

Last night on the Colbert Report, Parker reiterated her belief that Palin is not qualified for the GOP ticket, but she also revealed that some White House officials have told her that they secretly agree:

COLBERT: Now but you said you got emails from people in the White House who secretively –

PARKER: Did I say that?

COLBERT: Yes you did. You said you secretly got emails from people in the White House but you wouldn’t name who they were, who said that they agreed with you.

PARKER: That’s correct.

2. The Palin Pick Is So Astoundingly Irresponsible

If McCain were to win and be unable to serve his term, the threat to national security would be profound.

Many people with whom we agree on little else politically, understand that basic fact.

When Stalker Todd sneaks into her office to launch nukes at the home of an Alaska State Trooper, we are going to have a problem regardless of our political affiliation.

3. actually, this helps her
With most Repugs running away from Bushco as fast as they can, this helps with her "maverickette" status

12. Rove did NOT pick her ...
1) Rove and the Bushes wanted Romney as pres, then for McCain's VP.
2) McCain didn't like Romney to begin with, much less having him pushed down his throat by Rove/the Bushies.
3) Either way, his ego was too big to bring on someone who might upstage him.
4) McCain wanted Jomentum.
5) The only influence Rove had on the pick was to block Lieberman - Rove knew that a Jomentum pick would have blown the convention, and the party up, a D AND a Jew.
6) Rove THOUGHT the compromise pick was Pawlenty.
7) McCain just could not get past himself to even let himself be "forced" to take Pawlenty.
8) Pawlenty thought he was in as late as the morning of the pick.
9) IMO, in a fit of petulence in being told what to do in not taking Lieberman AND having alternatives pushed down his throat, McCain went COMPLETELY off the reservation in picking Palin - IMO, as much as anything for his own MILFY viewing pleasure.

Rove's "genius" is highly overrated.

But, he simply is not THAT stupid, to pick Palin.

Seriously, and again, I am someone who does not think he is some magical genious, but Rove is TOO freakin smart than to not see how big a trainwreck Palin was.

14. Great synopsis
The only people were in favor of a Palin pick were people like Limbaugh who knew absolutely nothing about her other than the fact that she was a social conservative and a woman.

The ballots have been printed and early voting has started.

Plus she's the only reason people show up at their nazi rallies anyway.

15. I bet most of the members of the Republican party
and the McCain campaign know she isn't qualified. Everyone but Palin herself knows it. McCain should have followed his own wishes and picked Lieberman. He wouldn't have been a great choice but at least it would've been better than Palin. With Lieberman, McCain could have used the experience and maverick argument more effectively....not that it would have worked but it wouldn't have appeared to be so obviously BS.
