My understanding is McCain could not get health insurance with his plan

Anybody know if this is right. I don't think he has a mandate that insurance has to cover high risk individuals meaning anyone with a pre-existing condition or a high risk situation like previous melanoma.

He has been treated by government paid doctors since birth and it will continue till death.

if he's always had government sponsored health care. He babbled for a minute then made some comment about astronauts.

My friends daughter was denied health insurance when she tried to get an individual plan. Reason? She had had surgery on a bone spur in her foot a couple of years before. Seriously, if they can reject you for a bone spur when you're 23, they can just reject you for having gray hair.
