What it really means...

Believe me, I know we don't have this in the bag, but these polls and stories about Obama and what seems like his embrace by the American public makes me proud. I feared (and still fear) this election; I see what is truly the demise of the United States if McCain wins...the end of the beginning of what Bush started.

However, those stories I read in history class about the united States being a people a culture that knows when to stand up for the right thing even when their fears drag them towards isolationism or hate. We've done it over and over again; stopping ourselves from devolving and ruining the experiment that is America. I thought it was heading that way....

Then I see Americans: White & Black, Poor & Rich, Man and Woman, Gay & Hetero, Left/Right, activist and business and everyone in between rising up and realizing what must be done, what needs to be done, to finally see through the fog and realize that we have arrived at a moment where we need to grab the wheel and with a common tug pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and change this country. Obama inspires, he enables, he advocates like any great Community Organizer does and builds pride from within, and power together.

When he wins November 4th it will be because enough of us woke up to realize that we have to move forward from this division and hate, politics and routine; much like the points in our history when we chose to grow-up now comes the end of our adolescence.
