Are we forgetting the great news?

The convention is now over. Bush has accepted the nomination.

If Kerry has been frugall, he and Bush are now on equall financial ground.

Add to that the fact that the GOP convention has given us tons of material with which to smack the GOP - A huge, peaceful, protest against a sitting President, Arnold becomming a misogynistic, steroidal Hoover, calling us sissies (Sissies!) if we don't believe recovery is just around the corner, Bush flip-flopping on whether the war on terror is winnable, and thank god for Zell Miller, plagiarizing an email hoax for his keynote rant, looking like a cranky old man who won't give you your ball back after it went over his fence, looking like the living dead for gods sake! And sounding like a wild eyed, under medicated, spittle flinging crackpot.

So, Bush got a bounce. Whaaa. Kerry hasn't been running ads for a MONTH, and we're worried that Bush got a bounce? Of course he got a bounce! Under the circumstances, Bush could be pimp slapping JKerry all over the mat!

Now Kerry is fighting back, fully funded, on equal $$ grounds, and with a great couple of PACs and 527s to help him.

We want this more than they do. We have much more to lose, and we'll fight much harder to win.

Cheer up, there's great news everywhere, and hope and help are on the way.

1. 5 Threads about Bush being gay
but no one has anything to say about this? Not even a crass dismissal?

This is my third thread in a row that sank like a rock, all serious subjects, non flame bait, and very positively minded. Maybe thats the problem, eh?

I would understand if I pissed someone off, or if I was thought to be a freeper, or if I was just blowing brain farts, but I don't think thats the case.

Maybe I should just take a hint...

I absolutely join your parade- I saw Friday as the Starting Gun
for the race. Some things were not equal, like Bush being able to continue to collect money for a month past Kerry-I'm GLAD Kerry saved his money for this last fight, when presumably more people will be paying attention.

It's unrealistic to expect that Bush would not get a bounce from the convention. But it's also not unrealistic to expect that Kerry will be in their, fighting, against the girlie man, Bush, who shows his cowardice every day.

Thank You!
I was beginning to think I was invisible.

Not that this is about me (ok, it is a little, I do have an ego), but I'm a little tired of the black clouds and gloom and doom.

We're in a great position, all things considered, and that needs to be pointed out. The $75 Million race is now on.

2. 2 months is forever in National politics Kerry is getting ready for
a major offensive & then another & another he is Military he thinks strategically he will pull out all the stops soon & go for the jugular.

Rove thinks he has Kerry on the ropes & that's more than likely exactly what Kerry wants him to think.

This is going to get real brutal real soon & I for one think Kerry is more than up for it.

Rove has met his match. IMO

Love this line "wild eyed, under medicated, spittle flinging crackpot."

Thanks for the Laugh :)

Kerry is not only a military man, but a former prosecuter. He is a hard closer, to which all of us Deanics will attest, and just a very smart politician.

Add to that the fact that the Dems just want it more this year, we've been given a political vitamin shot by our own primary season, and we're still pissed off from 2000.

It's only half time kids...

3. More good news:
This is as good as it's going to get for Bush. He can only go downhill from here - and he will.

Iraq is still a damn mess. Our guys and gals are still in danger there.

F9/11 will come out on video in October, prompting millions more to see what the fuss was all about. Even if it only sways 1%, that might be the margin of victory in November.

Howard Stern will only get louder on his show. I'm fully expecting his appeal to listeners to get even more direct in the final week of the campaign. If he's able to incite even a minor Ventura effect in a key state or two, that might make the difference.

Our GOTV operations are going to kick-ass this year. We've never seen such an intensity before.

In a recent poll, nearly 70% of Democrats say that they are "excited about voting" this year. When this poll was asked in 2000, only about half of that said they were excited. Turnout on our side will JUMP this year.. and that's not counting the aformentioned GOTV efforts.

So, yes, Bush might have his bounce in a few GOP-overrepresented polls. Let him have his moment; it will only be that much more enjoyable to see him fall from so high a position.

7. Don't take it so hard
sometimes positivity doesn't sell. Your post cheered me up though, especially after seeing the polls. I had to snap myself out of it. I mean we all expected Bush to get a bounce after the GOP convention. I think this bounce will push more Dems out to work harder for Kerry. Thanks for the positivity, I'm sure others will find it helpful.

11. Other good news - they did not dump Cheney!
There was fear that McCain would be on the ticket but it did not happen.
