Can anyone explain how Palin is the foremost authority on autism?
Is this a new, undiscovered part of her resume? Is she also an architect? A pilot? Finished her MD recently?

So. Strange. The second time he brought up autism and said Palin is the authority on it, my husband and I just looked at each other like "what the fuck?"

I was watching on CNN and his graph was way down at that point. And lemme tell ya: the women? They love some Obama.

3. I'm sure there's an article in one of the many magazines she's read.
That would make her an expert, just as proximity to Russia and Canada make her expert in foreign policy matters.

10. So, she can see Russia from her house, and that makes
her an expert on foreign policy? And having an autistic nephew makes her an authority on autism?
Okey-dokey.

an authority on childhood asthma.

21. Would his father be the trooper she wanted fired?
So that he would no longer be able to financially support the autistic child?

That has always been the shame of troopergate. She wanted to remove the livelihood of a father from her own nieces and nephews. That doesn't make her understanding of autism. That makes her SCUM.

19. That's basically McCain's ideology. It's all the same. That's how he lost
mother's who do have children with disabilities.

13. We laughed at that too
My wife's nephew (my godson) has Down syndrome. He's anything but autistic, and in the first months after his birth, his mother was no expert by virtue of having him. 20 years later, she's a real expert, but having a handicapped newborn just shows you how LITTLE you know.

Palin is an absolute beginner in the field.

16. if you wag your down's kid around at political rallies like a new handbag,
it makes you an authority on autism.

kind of like seeing the street from your house makes you a truckdriver.

22. Good question.
Edited on Wed Oct-15-08 10:39 PM by republicansarewhores
Is it because she is representing herself as the mother of her teen daughter Palin's Down's Syndrome baby Trig?

My followup question is how does covering up your daughter's underaged pregnancy and using the Down's Children child as a campaign prop hold Palin up to any other reaction than utter disgust and contempt?

RAW

(edited to correct the discrepancy between autism and Down's Syndrome... sorry for the error).

26. Remember that this is the same guy who said Palin is the foremost expert on *ENERGY* in the US.
... so I don't think it's really a statement worth fact-checking.
