"MCCAIN: Just again, the example of the eloquence of Senator Obama. He's health for the mother. You know, that's been stretched by the pro-abortion movement in America to mean almost anything". That's the extreme pro-abortion position, quote, "health."

2. I would think that even some anti-choice women would be put off by that.
Hell, anyone with a heart should be.

3. Of all his off-handed statements
on that topic, to which he is a johnny come lately zealous opportunist, the RTL people have to remember the quick vehemence which he stated the issue will not be a litmus test at all for SCOTUS nominations. The way he said everything on the issue must have rung falsely with every group and every aspect of the issue, a major political feat for one enjoying the easiest dumb answer side of the issue.

Obama even got to the point of finally iterating the real Dem stance on not being "pro-abortion" at all. He came up short in pounding the record straight in the simple terms necessary to pierce the red haze, but McCain's meltdown was a total gift.

4. the one thing i did really like about that exchange was Obama was able to explain
his present vote that Palin and the other rw nuts pound him on all the time, he took it on, explained it and he was clear.

As for McCain, any goper pro-choice women and i think they're are a fair number of them must have been totally put off by McCain's answer last night.
