"Joe the Plumber" and taxes is a moot issue.
We're in a "credit freeze." That's why the US taxpayers had to pony up $700,000,000,000 to bail out Wall Street. Without credit, we were told, small business couldn't survive. Small business relies on credit to meet payroll, pay operating costs, etc. So "Joe" should concern himself more with the present economic situation than whether or not he'll pay more taxes if he wanted to buy his own business.

Perhaps someone should have told "Joe" when he asked about paying more taxes, "Joe, you're SOL anyway 'cause you can't get the credit you need to buy and run your business, so whether or not you'll pay more taxes under Obama is a moot point."

1. That would be implicitly admitting higher taxes for Joe under Obama
And it is not the case!
