I wish somebody would ask McCain to explain what the JTP scenario has to do with job creation. |

So one person owns this hypothetical business and it grosses 250k. Another guy buys the same business... how does that automatically create new jobs? How does Joe not buying the business prevent new jobs from being created? :shrug:

He said that Obama's tax plan would "cause him not to be able to employ people" and that "these small business people like Joe the plumber are going to create jobs unless you take that money from him and spread the wealth around"
How does that work?

Raising Joe's income tax doesn't affect his ability to employ people, because the money he pays his employees isn't subject to income tax.
The only way you can make an argument that Joe will hire fewer people if his income tax goes up is to raise it so much that his take-home earnings are insufficient for him to live on. But since we're talking about a $250K cutoff, that's a stretch.
