McCain too dumb to drop Joe the Plumber
He's live on MSNBC now at a rally still promoting all his Joe the Plumber crap with that idiotic grin on his face. Still doesn't seem to understand that Joe isn't really a plumber, doesn't own nor plan to own a plumbing business, doesn't make near 250K, doesn't pay what taxes he does owe, wants to end Soc Security, and seems to be backpedaling as fast as he can on everything he said. That didn't take long. I think he was a McCain plant at an Obama rally to begin with.

1. You sound like you expected McSame to have correct information.
He's never had it before, why start now?

It probably was a Rovian ploy that has gone very, very wrong.

4. Joe's a doofus, but he wasn't a plant
He wasn't attending an Obama rally, he was playing football in his front yard when Obama did his unscheduled door-to-door visits.

The fact that McCain has latched on to him and he now turns out to be mostly hot air, well, that's just a gift horse we shouldn't look in the mouth.

6. I don't think he was a plant, but I think the GOP should have
vetted him a little (what else is new). Yeah, I feel like we're going to hear about this forever, even when Joe the plumber wants to be left alone. Hell, think of how long they beat the bridge to nowhere drum, after it had been roudly debunked?

11. If he and his campaign had a clue they'd have found out who "Joe the plumber"
was before running around campaigning all over him.

13. That's true. Obama wouldn't have run with something like this without checking it out.
Typical of McCain.

15. Back when I joined the Republican Party (in the 1970s)
superficially the party was on the decline. But if you looked under the hood, you saw a well-oiled political machine poised for great things (politically, if not policy-wise). And that's what happened. Unfortunately, it was the right wing of the party that triumphed.

Very clearly, things are reversed today. My, how the mighty have fallen.

And not a moment too soon.
