Colin Powell will hold up a little vial of Hope on MTP
Edited on Fri Oct-17-08 10:00 AM by Kurt_and_Hunter
Colin Powell will hold up a little vial of Hope when he endorses Obama on Meet the Press.

"Enough to hopify 100,000 people"

Satellite imagery of Obama rallies and diagrams of mobile change laboratories to follow.

Washington Post editorial Monday will say Powell's presentation settled the election--no thinking person can now vote for McCain.

(It's good endorsement, I guess, but I have a long memory)

3. I'm not convinced he'll endorse Obama...in fact I think a McCain endorsement is possible
if only because the McCainites are leaking the news of an Obama endorsement.

I'll wait to see what the O camp says...

8. Colon Powell supported GWB.... do you really think he'd
never consider selling out again, particularly given he has just testified glowingly on behalf of Sen. Stevens in his AK corruption trial?

We'll see, but I am guessing he will take the cowardly way out and avoid endorsements totally.

11. I'm with you on this - he shifts the way the wind blows for his own benefit
Sure, the wind is blowing hard for Obama right now. But you can be guaranteed that his old handlers in the GOP and the McCain campaign are pressuring him to endorse McCain and inject some kind of talking point into the campaign.

I'll believe it when I see it.

13. I don't

Powell would have little or no power under a McCain administration. He may be a poster boy for moderation, not much more. McCain is infested with neocons.

McCain is a big underdog to win the election at this point. Powell knows which way the wind is blowing.

I have suspicions Powell is not happy with the Palin pick and tone of the McCain campaign.

Like it or not Obama is likely to run a conservative/centrist foreign policy.

Powell is 71. He can endorse McCain, McCain loses and Powell remains on the sidelines. He can make no endorsement and continue relative obscurity. Or he can re-enter the stage with an endorsement of Obama.

My guess is the third option.

And yes I think he's a good endorsement (without comment on any other aspects of his character).
