Assessing the battlegrounds: Why Obama will win
The most important state polls are those who will be released next week. With the debates now concluded and no major event left that can significantly change the dynamic, most people have made up their minds and next week's polls will start to reflect the results in Nov. In the last 2 presidential elections, the final results didn't differ much from the polls taken a week after the last debate.

According to most estimates the battlegrounds are :
IN, NC, FL, OH, MO, VA, CO, WV, ND, NV

The best thing about this list is that OBAMA doesn't need most of those states to win, in fact he only needs one or two of them to get over 270 EVs. The second best thing is that Obama is currently leading or tied in all of those states except IN and WV .

I know there is an effort by the GOP to try and steal the election in all of those states, but they won't be able to succeed in most of them particularly in states where Obama's lead could be beyond the margin of error.

Looking at the poll numbers since August , Obama is highly favored to win Colorado (where his lead has reached 10 % in some polls ), Nevada( where he has lead in almost every poll this year) and Virginia ( where his current average is at 8 %) . I can see McCain holding on to Missouri, Indiana , North Dakota and West Virginia and with some outside help winning Florida and Ohio .

The bottom line however is, Obama will win the election because he has too many paths to a victory and can't possibly miss on all of them.
