Anybody have link to McCain snubbing Cindy on stage at 3rd Debate? |
|
Somebody told me they saw it but didn't remember where and I can't find it. I have it on VCR from recording the debate, but it needs to be on YouTube for people to see and pass around. Actually, it needs to be plastered all over MSM! Instead of greeting Cindy when she came on the stage, McCain went over to Michelle, hand extended to shake her hand, but Michelle went to Obama first to hug her husband -- that was cool!! He withdrew his hand, turned, then gave Cindy a quick, almost stand-offish and hurried kind of peck, then quickly turned away from Cindy and back to shake Michelle and Obama's hands. Waving at the crowd at the end, he hardly acknowledged Cindy was standing beside him. When they were ready to exit the stage, he gave Cindy a "com'on" brush, then walked ahead of her and pounced down the stairs, leaving her in a position to have to awkardly follow behind him and navigate the stairs alone. It was degrading to Cindy, and in my mind, degrading to all women! What a contrast to the loving way Obama and Michelle interrelate.

2. Maybe it's an enlarged prostate.... |
|
He's always eager to leave at the end of the debate. Maybe he just has to go to the bathroom. It's not uncommon to need more frequent trips as you age -- and not necessarily a major health issue, either.
It could be that Palin's baby won't be the only one who will need a fresh swaddling after the next campaign event.
This wouldn't be entirely bad for the McCain camp, either. They can once again co-opt Obama's message:
"Change You Can Be Dry With."

4. I disagree and it would have served him right if she'd fallen down the steps. |
|
As someone who's stopped wearing "high heels" out of fear of falling/twisting my ankle, I notice and empathize with women having to go down stairs in their high fashion, stiletto heels. McCain wants her to be his high fashion trophy wife - necessarily including the 4 or more inch high heels. If he was at all the "gentleman", as in "an officer and a gentleman", he would have given her a hand to hold on to while she went down the stairs.
The Navy officers (of a slightly younger generation than McCain's) I've been around in social situations had impeccable manners, including standing whenever a lady joined or left a table at a restaurant or a party, holding chairs for them to sit down at, holding car doors, AND holding their elbows if a walking surface was uneven, slippery, etc. My husband and I were once the dinner guests of a Navy minesweeper Captain aboard his ship. Every doorway had a 4 inch or so portion across the bottom which had to be stepped over. Every sailor/officer on the ship was cautioning me to be careful and offering me an arm to hold. (I was reminded of their courtesies decades later when I became a scuba diver and dove through doorways of a sunken US Navy minesweeper in Cozumel.)
And any well-trained husband learns when to offer some assistance when it comes to steps and high heels. Cindy is careful to stay about three steps behind John. Watching the two of them interact in public is like seeing a highly stylized kabuki theater performance.

7. Compare the McCains to the Obamas |
|
One is a loveless marriage, no warmth, no little smiles between each other, just going through the motions. Anyone can see that the Obama's adore each other. It's evident in the way they defer to each other and work together.
She may have a ton of money and he may have power but I'll take a relationship like the Obama's any day.

5. Since she is still standing behind him bobbing her head up and down |
|
at every event, I guess she is not too pissed off. I am sure she will overlook anything he does because she has a strong desire to be the First Lady.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xr0_asHOUZgThe wives enter the stage at about the marker 6:11. If anybody knows how to edit out from there to the end, it would be great to spread all over the net!
