"Obama will write refund checks to people who don't even pay taxes": McCain |
|
That's one of the latest stump attacks, first used by RW talk show hosts, then Steve Schneider after the debate, and now on the stump.
I can't wait for surrogates, the MSM, and Obama or Biden to counter these fucking lies with the truth!
The 95% who will get refunds are 95% of working Americans, not all Americans, but the truth no longer matters to these bastards.

He launched his campaign in the very city in Missippii where three young people marching for freedom were murdered. He used all the code words for demeaning Blacks. I am glad the bastard is dead.

It's called the Earned Income Credit, and it creates refunds for people who typically have no tax liability. The programs been in place for nearly thirty years and was endorsed as "the most effective anti-poverty program we've got" by...wait for it...RONALD REAGAN.

Clinton's smart leadership had lead to a budget surplus, which for some reason dumbasses equate with being out of debt, so Bush promised to give back some of "our money" in the form of the $300 checks. Of course, if you were rich at the time, you probably got a much larger check.
It's like the couple with a mortgage and credit card debt FINALLY getting the household budget to the point where they don't spend every dime they earn and MORE, so instead of paying down the credit card or mortgage, decide to buy a new war. I mean, new car.

I re-heard McCain say, "we've got to change the CULTURE of America" in the debate abortion segment.
Can you imagine if Obama had said that? Change the CULTURE of America?!!!
I don't have to tell you the kind of spin they'd be taking with that comment.

11. if I "didn't even pay taxes" I'd still spend about 34% of my pay on taxes |
|
even for those who have so many credits and deductions that they get every single penny of federal income tax back they still pay
1.5% Medicare Tax 12.6% Social Security Tax (including what the employer pays to SS instead of paying to them) 0-9% State income taxes 3-6% sales taxes - Half or more their income is spent buying taxable goods (depending on if they have sales taxes on food) 5-20% embedded "invisible" taxes in the price of what they buy 3-9% personal property taxes, fees, licenses etc. 3-20% real estate taxes (also built into rent or trailer lot rent payments)
any claim that anyone who works is not paying taxes is a stupid ass.

|
"Cut taxes for 95 percent of workers and their families with a tax cut of $500 for workers or $1,000 for working couples." is from barackobama.com/taxes.
Cut taxes, not send refund checks to, still the BS from the stump suggest checks are going to be written...

19. The last refund checks did the samething. So what's he talking about? |
|
It's like when he bashes Obama for associating with ACORN, yet McSame was associating with the same group.
McSame's lies are disturbing. I don't exactly know what it is about the lying... maybe it's the added sarcasm or maybe it's that he's too thick headed and stubborn to see it any other way that is upsetting. Take the last debate and Obama spelling out his tax policy and the businesses exempt and all, and then McSame still says Obama will raise your taxes. Just shut the hell up McSame! Obama just spelled it out to you! Damn!

|
Edited on Sat Oct-18-08 11:53 AM by gulliver
So since it is refundable, that makes it a spread-the-wealth hand-out to non-taxpayers. McCain's a wealth redistributionist commie. But he never lets on for the rubes. He may be a betting man, be he never makes a bet on the intelligence of the American voter.
