Why doesn't Kerry challenge John O'Neill to a debate? |
|
ala Dick Cavett? He could then refute all the lies right to his fat face and wipe the floor with him...just like he did in 1972. I would PAY to see that.}(

Let the surrogoates take care of o'Neill.
Kerry must not lose his focus, it must be all Bush all the time.

This swiftboat thing has hurt him...and there are reports that Kerry is furious at his staff for it. Time to address this thing directly, IMO.

should not be mistaken for debating O'Neill. Kerry is running against Bush. He needs to debate Bush on this issue.

20. Right, there's nothing Kerry can gain by giving O'Neill a platform |
|
He should only be dealing with his opponent, the Chimp. Let Hurley, McPeak, Cleland et al deal with O'Neill.

but it would also elevate O'Neill. Kerry just needs to clean Bush's clock during the presidential debates.

O'Neill will just spin and lie his ass off like he's been doing on all the talking head shows and no one will change their minds over which version is the truth.

|
give this liar credibility by debating him? And you know that O'Neil and Rove would use the opportunity to launch another set of lies that would require more wasted time counteracting.
Much better to let Bush defend SBVT in the debates with Kerry.

|
Peers, ya know. I think that would get a lot of media coverage, and have debaters whit actual knowledge prove the others to be liers!
A Presidential candidate should not be drug down to that level.

Kerry has bigger battles to fight right now, and we don't have to give O'Neill any more time on his 15 minutes of fame than he's already gotten. All the more reason why Kerry needed to come out with a strong rebuttal as soon as these SBV ads hit the air.
A Kerry debate with O'Neill would be a waste of time and only serve to make Kerry look foolish.

15. This is about the election, not about some scumbag who makes up shit and |
|
spreads lies because he hates Kerry.
Why should Kerry waste his energy and time on O'Neill? Why give him more air time? O'Neill has already been discredited. He has an old grudge against Kerry because Kerry dared to oppose the Vietnam war after he came back.
But it probably wouldn't hurt to remind America very frequently that AWOL frat boy Bush - who did everything possible so he wouldn't have to go to Vietnam - was behind the smear campaign.

|
By now there's not a person in America who doesn't know what a pack of lies this is....which is why the GOP is trying to run away as fast as they can and Limbaugh is trying to tell his dittoheads it's a Clinton trick to discredit Junior Flyboy.
All Kerry addressing this horseshit at this point would do is make it seem as if there's some substance there after all.

O'Niell is just another piece o' crap Radical Right operative. There's only one way to shut the Radical Right up, and that would be illegal and immoral and draw too much jail time for too many people.

Kerry isn't running against John "Wayne" O'Neil. Rove & thugs would love nothing better than for Kerry to get blocked in by the Asscroft look-alike and keep the pressure off Georgie. I think it would be much better for Kerry to gather up some good comedy writers and when any of this crap is thrown out Kerry and Edwards could defuse it with a one-liner. Nothing would piss the Neocons more than to be laughed at, we only have to look at Zell and I think those that lean toward Bush will pay more attention to what Kerry is saying, we only have to look at Jon Stewart.
