AP is snooping into Bush TANG records again
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/national/AP-Bush-National-Guard.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Documents that should have been written to explain gaps in President Bush's Texas Air National Guard service are missing from the military records released about his service in 1972 and 1973, according to regulations and outside experts.

For example, Air National Guard regulations at the time required commanders to write an investigative report for the Air Force when Bush missed his annual medical exam in 1972. The regulations also required commanders to confirm in writing that Bush received counseling after missing five months of drills.

No such records have been made public and the government told The Associated Press in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit that it has released all records it can find.

Outside experts suggest that National Guard commanders may not have produced documentation required by their own regulations.

2. Someone needs to research ANG records
for any case of a pilot refusing a direct order to get a flight physical and what were the consequences. I suspect that this is a very rare if not something that never happened with any other airman.

3. Pilots cherish their flight privileges.
But, if you'll notice, someone else lost his flight privileges the within a month of each other. It's on the same document. <http://www.kiddingonthesquare.com/2004/06/imagine_what_ja.html>

James R. Bath.

Ain't that a funny coincidence?

5. You are exactly right - I was discussing this just last week-
I said "why would any young man ever give up a job as a fighter pilot?" It is arguably, the best job on earth for a 25 year-old, with the possible exception of astronaut. This has been true since the beginning of aviation. What a spoiled, drunken, worthless ass.

6. With Kitty's book coming out... I'm wonderin'
maybe there is/was a military paper trail to Bush being investigated for his homosexual tendencies and perhaps, that's why there's a missing document problem.

7. Didn't some guy say he saw the records in the trash?
Edited on Sun Sep-05-04 01:21 PM by Kimber Scott
Maybe, they need to call him up again. Not that anybody would believe him, or anything like that. But, here's a little inside information for you. I have some of my National Guard records. I was supposed to turn them in to my new unit. They never asked for them and I forgot about it. (Part-time soldiering is a little chaotic.) There's nothing important in there, but they gave them to me. I wonder if Bush got his records to take with him to the new unit? Of course, they should still have copies of all the important stuff. I guess that all goes to the state, or something.

P.S. I left the NG in 1987 when I re-enlisted in the Regular Army. I'm not running for president and I didn't wear any ribbons I wasn't supposed to.

13. But it also PO's a lot of Vets..
especially traditional Roosevelt/Truman/Kennedy supporters.

My dad's a WWII vet, but never wears it on his sleeve. He won't talk about war at all. But he has managed to say "I think that kind of thing (SBVT) is just shameful and disgusting." He was speechless when I told him about the Purple Heart bandages.

Talk to the Vets you know! Ask them how they feel, and if they're going to vote.

16. They can report what you call "medalgate" all they like
There was no "addition" of a combat V, the medal already implied it. It was a typo. Who cares?

The fact that the Chimp was AWOL, and has been lying and hiding it all these years, is actually important.

15. because Clinton agreed to an independent counsel
initially about White Water
it led all the way to a sexual harassment lawsuit, and, finally, to Monica and impeachment.

You give these bastards an inch, and they will never, ever, ever let up.

19. The CinC being AWOL
Is a story in and of itself, unrelated to Kerry's records. As is the deliberate destruction and coverup of related records.

It's not a story because Kerry was a war hero. It's a story about Bush because of Bush's own actions during the AWOL period and afterwards, and because of statements he's made about being "The War President."

He chose to make being The War President part of his campaign. So be it.
