It's official - * too much of a man for Kerry |
|
heard it on tweety while flipping (will soon be taking the "news" stations out of the flip rotation).
Tweety - "Out in the real world you have to be macho, and John Kerry hasn't proven himself yet".
That's right, gang. The golfing cheerleader is more of a man than the wind-surfing, snowboarding hockey player. The draft-dodging deserter is tougher than the 5-medal VN vet. The pansy who lets others throw mud is more studly than the one who wants weekly debates. The guy whose daughters are drunken floozies is more virile than the one whose daughters are successful adults.
Either that, or Chris is REALLY excited about learning that * might be gay.

"We’re proud of our president. Americans love having a guy as president, a guy who has a little swagger, who’s physical, who’s not a complicated guy like Clinton or even like Dukakis or Mondale, all those guys, McGovern. They want a guy who’s president. Women like a guy who’s president. Check it out. The women like this war."

We have seen him take any side just to be able to talk more shit. He can't be relied on to stick with one side or the other, the zell deal is an example.

6. Shrubbie is full of macho posturing, but he is really a girly man |
|
although I don't mean to be insulting to girly men.
I just think it's totally hypocritical. Tweety says Kerry hasn't proved himself yet. When did the Chimp prove himself? When he was running away on 9/11? When he was hiding out in Alabama? When he was cowering behind a bottle of beer rather than become a self sufficient adult?
Tweety just has a hard on for Bushie.

How could he say something like that!
Have you noticed that ALL of the members of the Media have lean waaaay into the Bush camp since the Republican convention?
It was bad before but this week end is the absolute pits. Karl Rove must have promised Tweety some private time in a candle lit room with Georgie.
What is this Macho stuff all about? The nerve!!

17. By what standard is Bush manly though??? |
|
I mean, you hear this crap and all the attendant characteristics that include the swagger and the shoot from the hip nonsense.
But what concrete evidence is there that George Bush has a manly bone in his body??
Kerry shoots (I can't recall ever seeing Shrub with a rifle, has anyone else?), knows how to clean what he shoots, does all these very high-risk sporting activities that The Doctor mentioned, is well-read, well-educated, well-spoken, intelligent, well-groomed, well-mannered, DANG!!! Where can I find another John Kerry for myself???
That is a turn on, not some lazy, smart-ass, holier than thou, clumsy fool.

These pathetic chest thumpers must use a failed political ideology to define their own bizarre since of masculinity that boils down to simple talking tough. From welfare to taxes, these fake( pull you self up by your boot straps) dip shits talk tough, yet when push comes to shove, they run and cry like little girls. The biggest pussy's I know are republicans.

Bush is a cheerleader...chickenhawk...screwd Iraq and the economy and Kerry has to prove himself? Yep let me run right out and follow chris's advice and vote Bush because he is so much of a man. ROFL.. I bet old Laura could tell another story about his macho manliness. When Kerry was dodging bullets, Bush was dodging draft ! Hey...the man cannot even ride a bicycle. I say lets put this man on a Harley and see how long he stays up on the thing !

Bush has the macho image down cold.
The media lets him wear the mask and celebrates him doing so.
Kerry is a real man but because real men are not one dimensional, he comes off as somehow less of a man.
Bush is not a he man, he just plays one on TV. That for a great many people in this country is enough.

35. Oh GAWD -- read Frank Rich on the "manliness" thing from today's NYT |
|
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/05/arts/05RICH.htmlIt begins: ONLY in an election year ruled by fiction could a sissy who used Daddy's connections to escape Vietnam turn an actual war hero into a girlie-man.
As we leave the scripted conventions behind us, that is the uber-scenario that has locked into place, brilliantly engineered by the president of the United States, with more than a little unwitting assistance from his opponent. It's a marvel, really. Even a $10,000 reward offered this year by Garry Trudeau couldn't smoke out a credible eyewitness to support George W. Bush's contention that he showed up to defend Alabama against the Viet Cong in 1972. Yet John F. Kerry, who without doubt shed his own blood and others' in the vicinity of the Mekong, not the Mississippi, is now the deserter and the wimp.
Don't believe anyone who says that this will soon fade, and that the election will henceforth turn on health-care policy or other wonkish debate. Any voter who's undecided by now in this polarized election isn't sitting around studying the fine points. In a time of fear, the only battle that matters is the broad-stroked cultural mano a mano over who's most macho. And so both parties built their weeklong infotainments on militarism and masculinity, from Mr. Kerry's toy-soldier "reporting for duty" salute in Boston to the special Madison Square Garden runway for Mr. Bush's acceptance speech, a giant phallus thrusting him into the nation's lap, or whatever. ("To me that says strength" is how his media adviser, Mark McKinnon, forecast the set's metaphorical impact to The Times.) Though pundits said that Republicans pushed moderates center stage last week to placate suburban swing voters, the real point was less to soften the president's Draconian image on abortion than to harden his manly bona fides. Hence Mr. Bush was fronted by a testosterone-heavy lineup led by a former mayor who did not dally to read a children's book on 9/11, a senator who served in the Hanoi Hilton rather than the "champagne unit" of the Texas Air National Guard, and a governor who can play the role of a warrior on screen more convincingly than can a former Andover cheerleader gallivanting on an aircraft carrier. It's all about ACTING macho. :puke:
