McCain political instincts are skewhunky, especially in Pennsylvania. |
|
He wants to win there to build an electoral college victory but polling shows him trailing by a significant margin.
Several polls are in agreement on that reading.
Joe Biden is a native of Scranton. He can talk the local turkey and has early-years bragging rights.
Had "maverick" McCain chosen Ridge, he STILL be in an impossible situation -- it would make Pennsylvania more competitive but would lose McCain huge chunks of the fundie vote elsewhere, rendering a win in Pennsylvania meaningless.
My take is that Obama/Biden will defeat McCain/Palin in Pennsylvania, and by a comfortable margin.

1. Someone told him he has the best chance there ... |
|
Obama has him in a box, forcing him to spend his underwhelming bank in formerly RED states ... Making it VERY difficult to break through in a BLUE state ....
It is my understanding that, by keeping Pennsylvania and taking Colorado, Iowa and New Mexico: Obama could still lose Florida, Virginia, and ALL the other Bush states ... And still win ....
Virginia looks VERY good, and so do Colorado, Iowa and New Mexico ....
Really .. I think we could be headed for a landslide here ..... The current scenario has all the makings ....
Obama is squeezing poor McCain dry ... He has run out of options .... No wonder he seems so desperate ...

Yes. I think your read is exactly right. I don't want to jinx the outcome but I agree with your take -- the makings of a big win are in the mix.
Tonight the GOP is reportedly "furious" over Palin's expensive duds, but the override is still the McCain campaign's spectacular cluelessness.
