West Virginia’s top Army Reserve spokesman; vote bush OUT.
West Virginia’s top Army Reserve spokesman says the Iraq war was a mistake, and President Bush should be voted out of office. “I feel we were not told the truth. I do not think we should be there. America is in more danger now because we are using up a tremendous amount of human resources, the soldiers."

The ex-reservist told Wells that throwing so much military manpower into Iraq has left fewer forces to deal with terrorist threats, “so America is at a greater risk than before.”

Tyree said he can’t understand veterans who “continue to support a leader who would lead us in this direction with these kinds of miscalculations.”

“I believe in this country, and I’m concerned about where this country is heading,” he said. “I want to be part of the change, vs. the part that will allow us to continue on the path of destruction.”

2. Another REAL
hero speaking out. I firmly believe our Military doesn't really support Bush but won't give voice to that opposition until Nov. 2nd.

Hooray for all our troops!

3. West Va

Is huge. Kerry was leading there until the last month and now Blurb is up having visited there numerous times + heavy propaganda.

I believe West Va went Bush last time and I really think this is a state K/E can win...K/E needs to get back in there.

5. He's Black - I'm Black
I agree that this is great, but (I can say this cause I'm black) the fact that Col. Tyree is black will make his statement be dismissed as as a Kerry apologist. It's up to us to keep it alive.

Sad, but true

6. No offense but "black West Virginian" isn't a big group
I agree with you that this is great but having spent a lot of time in WV I can say that he will summarily be disregarded. That took a lot of guts though, real balls.

There are more blacks in Newport News Va than in the state of West Virginia-and NN isn't THAT black there just aren't many blacks in WV.

7. I don't think that's the case
Tens of thousands of our men and women in uniform are black. I don't see why that should make anyone dismiss him. Perhaps it might even have the opposite effect?

In any case, welcome to DU!
