Translator offers fitting obituary for GOP.

The image comes from the recent fan translation of Mother 3, a Japan-only sequel to the Super Nintendo game Earthbound.

The original game was released a few months before the GOP's 2006 drubbing and the translation came out a few days ago.

2. The game has nothing to do with the Old West...

It's just that specific character's mode of dress. Odd clothes are very normal in Japanese role-playing games (a style of game that is essentially a graphic novel with menu-drive battles and watered-down Dungeons & Dragons mechanics..They're pretty different from both pen-and-paper and electronic role-playing games developed in the West).
