OMG! Some random internet site says Obama's internal polls show PA is a 2 point spread!!!!! |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 09:55 PM by GarbagemanLB
That must explain why Obama himself won't be returning to the state before November and will be spending all his time in VA and other red states!
And what about the Pennsylvania governor saying he is worried? That couldn't possibly be a public statement to warn against overconfidence!!!
We need to worry!!!!!!!!!!

1. That (alleged) poll is a week old |
|
If it even exists, and is not backed up by any other public poll.

2. The best thing for Obama in PA, is to gag Rendell. Other polls say differently |

Some people just can't play with a lead. Gotta make it close every time.

I don't know what the "real" spread is. It may be 2 or it may be 20. We'll know in 13 days.
But one thing's for damn sure. Obama's polls don't show PA as a 2-point state. If they did, he wouldn't have been in Florida today and Indiana tomorrow. The easiest way to end McCain is to win PA. McCain has gambled everything on PA. It will be easier for Obama to defend his lead in PA than to gain a lead in Indiana. The fact that they are campaigning in places like Indiana say they aren't that worried about PA.
Oh, and I guess it also helps that Obama has a running mate who actually IMPROVES his chances in PA.

6. I always err on the side of believing we can lose a state |
|
even though I think we're in very good shape overall.
Doesn't it make sense not to be complacent?

10. Sure. Hence, Rendell's statement. My argument is with those who seem to think it makes sense that |
|
there is a 2 point spread in PA while Obama is off in other states.
He NEEDS PA to win in most scenarios. If it was that close, he wouldn't be in Indiana and Florida.

13. Obama PA ad buys for this coming week: -11%; RNC ad buys: -35%; McCain ad buys: +1.7 % |
|
PA Ad Buys for the coming week (previous week in parens):
Obama 2,970,000 (3,337,000) McCain: 1,811,000 (1,780,000) RNC: 255,000 (425,000);
Obama reducing PA by $370,000; 11% decrease RNC reducing ad buys $170,000; 35% decrease
McCain Increasing Ad Buys $31,000; 1.7% increase
That's a reduction of $140,000 in PA ad buys on the Republican side. In the week before the election. In a state they claim to be playing for. Where they're down 8-14%. With one of the most expensive advertising markets (Philly) in the country.
Let me explain something for the know-nothings. McCain is playing this Western PA shit because he gets free cross-over coverage in OH and WV by doing it, while pumping up the morale of his base, who would otherwise be demoralized by the retreats everywhere else. He does not have a groundhog's chance in hell of winning Pennsylvania. And the ad buys pretty much proves that all the campaigns know that as well.

20. So what? It makes sense to decrease ad buys if your opponent does the same by a margin of 3-1. |
|

That doesn't mean anything. Only an imbecile would think differently.

19. Where's the link that says Obama won't be returning to PA before Election Day? |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-23-08 11:43 AM by ClarkUSA
Hmmm? Because his schedule is very fluid and is never planned more than a few days ahead of time.
And it wasn't a "random internet website," it was The Hill, which is a highly respected Congressional publication.
Face it, you know nothing.
