What's the best defense to this current add?
That says essentially Kerry almost never was at Senate Intelligence meetings....

1. Look at the voting records of other Senators
especially Repukes. Also get statements from others on the Committee...seems to me I've read favorable comments from the Dems on this Committee.

2. I once hear on Randi
That because these meetings deal with Top Secret material that member attendance may be concealed. Don't know if I got that right but seems logical.

3. An ad could be made of ...
all the vacation time bush* has spent since being in the White House. When he should have been working.

4. Here's the defense: People listening VERY CLOSELY to what they say
They never said he missed any percentage of Intelligence Committee meetings. Yes, they want the public to BELIEVE that they said he missed all of those meetings, but what they ACTUALLY said is that he missed the PUBLIC INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE MEETINGS. Public Congressional Committee meetings are dog & pony shows put on entirely for entertainment purposes. Kerry has demonstrated that he has no time for the dog & pony shows that the Republicans are so fond of these days.
Think about it. How much "Intelligence" could be discussed in a public meeting? Try NONE.
The real meetings of the Intelligence Committees are held in PRIVATE, BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. Kerry was there. That's my response.

6. That's what I was wondering...
when they say he missed all those meetings...were they counting public and not the private...?

9. The ad says "public". They just want us to hear differently.
It's pretty sad actually. I'm sure the psychologists have a term for people that try to mislead others like that.

8. So could one say he missed the committee "press conferences?"
That seems fair. And went to the closed door intelligence meetings.

7. Don't forget... "W" has been on vacation 40% of the time... and
he decided to go "cut brush" after being told we would be attacked...

lets open up the records of the rest of congress and see who attended what..... embarrassing I bet.

10. There's so much more to this than meets the eye!
John Kerry is no slouch and he's no fool!

Congress is a subversive maze of trickery and "gotcha". If he did not attend something there's a legitimate explanation for it, and even then you must compare * apples to apples!

Furthermore, the repugs accuse him of doing everything with the ulterior motive of running for President. This latest smear doesn't fit very well into that repuke-spewn theory! Then, again, the ONLY thing the pukes have going for them is 'smears'!

Perhaps there's a 'debunk' to this 'smear' on johnkerry.com :hi:

* Compare other Senators' records while their party, either one, was in the minority!

* Compare other Senators' records, from either party, while they were running for reelection!
