ENOUGH! Polls are NOT tightening! Today is Obama's sixth best polling day of the last 57
I haven't wanted to post numbers because I didn't want to contribute to any complacency, but the hand wringing is too much.

I've been keeping a history since August 28th. Here are 1-day averages of what we have:

1. If there werent a few hand-wringers, we'd have to invent them.

28. I'd prefer 75/25 to 60/40. I don't want any doubt about who won. Elections have been stolen before,
and frankly I won't think it's over until it's really over

3. I question the motives and concerns of those 'hand wringers' on DU!
Doubt is like putting poison in the community well!
Keep the faith and trust the process... Obama WILL win this election! Keep your thoughts positive!

9. I don't have any problem with some words of caution,
I posted a few myself in August when I noticed the polls narrowing enough that the undecideds everyone was ignoring were causing states to flip for McCain; within a week Obama had lost his EV lead. But what is going on now looks absolutely nothing like those days, no matter what the punditry, IBD, and the AP would have us think. As long as we continue to do what we've been doing, we're going to win and win big -- as I posted earlier, Obama could have every state within eight points stolen from him and still win the election with 277 electoral votes. At this point, we're the only ones that can lose this for us, we gotta keep on keepin' on.

24. It's different for different people.
When I go negative, it usually makes me more diligent, rather than defeated.

However, given how much it annoys my husband, I realize that it doesn't work for everyone.

But, "trust the process" is exactly what we must NOT do. To me, "trust the process" IS complacency. To me, WE ARE the process. So, it's not about trust, it's about action, today and every day until, hopefully, November 5th. And sadly, it might go beyond that if we aren't able to defeat rigged ballots.

Me personally, I know I won't "breathe easier" until 9 years from now, when President Obama steps down from office, still alive and kicking.

It is easier for me to fight against the worst case scenario if I know what it is.

One person's poison is another person's stimulant.

29. Complacency ten days before an election never served a campaign well: how do you know the
rovians won't try some new and unexpected trick in the coming days? Even if we are destined for a win, the margin of the win is important, because a blowout might bring overwhelming control of the House and Senate: the size of our majority there may well matter in 2008

Nobody with a brain relies on polls at this stage: the only appropriate attitude for the next ten days is cautious optimism

6. The only question now is how big is the landslide going to be?
If Obama wins (as he might) MT, ND, SD, GA, FL, OH, IN, VA, CO, NM, it will be 399 to 139.

That is just about a best-case scenario.

21. McCain would have to gain 12% of the popular vote in 12 days. Tell me how that is going to happen.
Obama is gaining support in all categories of voters and issues.

What is McCain going to do in 12 days to reverse that momentum and catch up? He can't do anything, he's been scraping the bottom of the barrel for weeks.

Personally I'm getting to the point that I'd like to see a granite pizza for anyone using the term "talk me down" but I'm just getting a little punchie this close to the election.
