So what have y'all been up to, campaign-wise
Stand up and take a bow!

(I was sort of doing this under a different heading, but that was probably confusing, so let's try it here.)

I've been phone banking, canvassing, donating, bringing in supplies to HQ, getting yard signs for the people in my church (people who live in Conservative areas and are often the only Obama signage on the block). I also took off the next week and a half from work for the last week of the campaign and GOTV. Now I've been told I'll be a resource coordinator on Nov 4. I don't even have a full grasp of what I'll be doing and it sorta scares me. I've never had any kind of leadership position in a campaign before. For pete's sake, this is only my second real campaign where I was aware and not a sheeple. I hope they know what they're doing!

So what is everyone else up to?

1. My debut as a campaign volunteer in Raleigh today! Data entry and phone calls -
Was there about 5 hours, loved every second, will be back at it tomorrow (the currently wonderful economy led to my recent layoff, so it is nice to feel like I am contributing to real change!).

4. Welcome! Thanks for your help!

Don't forget to vote early if you're going to help Nov 4th, if you can in your state, that is.

I like being around the other volunteers. Even the staff is enthusiastic and very appreciative.

8. They seem to be expecting quite a few early voters here
They had quite a setup when I was at City Hall on Monday. They said it had been a steady stream of people coming in.

3. Oh yeah, forgot the data entry and the voting early
Me too!

Fired up! Ready to go!

Thanks for your help.

I've never seen such a grassroots campaign, have you? So volunteer oriented, trying to get people even in Conservative areas to work their own neighborhoods.

5. This is the first campaign I've ever worked for.
It's absolutely astounding! We've got tons of out of state volunteers at the office I'm at in Columbus, Ohio. It's really amazing.

There were lots of calls being made to attorneys today, too, to make sure they could show up and poll watch.

Not this time!

7. They seem very organized from my limited experience
They have 7 field organizers in Waukesha, which is a smaller city about 12 miles away from Milwaukee, and one that generally goes Republican. When McCain closed down his Michigan office, many of those workers ended up in Waukesha County, an area that McCain should have been able to count as safe. That he could not is a direct result of our efforts there.

We get Illinois volunteers coming here, bless them.
