and people's well wishes, particularly the wish that they hang on to see Obama elected, has caused me to remember others here who are no longer with us, but made significant efforts in helping to pave this road, just as Barack's grandmother, and Teddy Kennedy have.
Right off the top of my head, I think of Kephra and Andy. And there are others I cannot remember at this moment. There are also friends, family, lovers, and others whose support and love carried us while we weathered these last 8 horrible years, and are now gone.
Not trying to "jinx" or "count my chickens", just reminding myself and others that their have been a lot of fellow laborers on this road gang. They challenged us, they made us think, they made us laugh, and with each of their passings... they made us cry.
If we win this thing election night, and I'm pretty sure we will, I plan to raise a glass and toast to those laborers for democracy not with us any longer. I will thank them for their help, and hope that they are now truly resting in peace.
