This was not some woman who just wanted attention for herself.

This was a woman who said "a black man"--an Obama supporter--carved into her face with a knife, hurt
her and robbed her.

This was someone who wanted to do damage to the Obama campaign and to the Democrats. This was politically
motivated to hurt African Americans and the Obama campaign.

This can't be all chalked up to some poor, defenseless girl who was shouting out for help.

Her crime wasn't about gaining attention for herself, her crimes were plotted to malign African Americans and Obama.

At least Ashley confessed a day after her stupid racist stunt. If she hadn't, I'd be right there with you not feeling bad for her, and not being compassionate enough to think that maybe she can find a way out of her hole of racism if everyone stops stomping on her. as someone mentioned, she needs to be shamed. Soceity needs to send a clear message to these kinds of dingbats that this kind of behavior is unacceptable and has repercussions. So that it doesn't happen again. And so that more (yes, primarily) black men aren't thrown into jail for no reason.
