Has the McCain campaign made an official statement about Ashley Todd today?

They were so quick to make it public that both McCain and Palin personally called her.

And the story has been out for 3 hours now.... and no statement?

They owe the country a statement on this. Someone needs to get an official comment from them.

If they made one and I missed it, please post a link. I've been looking and haven't found one.

1. I think they are going to use her with Joke the Plumber, Karen the Teacher,
Steve the Barber, and Ashley the community organizer.

6. The McCain campaign exploited it.
Both McCain and Palin were talking with this woman yesterday, before she confessed.

I'm very upset that congressman John Lewis attacked this young woman, and I'm shocked that Senator Obama has said nothing about it."

9. last public statement
According to the McCain campaign, both Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and Sen. McCain called Ms. Todd and her family to express their concerns, but a spokesman declined to comment on the incident

12. No benefits to being unfair in this
What the twerp did was truly sick and potentially could have had severe repercussions. BUT, she was working on behalf of their campaign and we'd have jumped all over McCain and Palin had they expressed no concern for her...especially if it had turned out to be a true story. I don't doubt they thought cynically of how this event could help them, but seriously folks, if your 20 year old daughter got attacked at work, wouldn't you expect her boss to express some concern?
I'm not in possession of enough facts to get outraged that McCain and Palin have yet to respond. I do agree that once the entire story is made public, they do need to disavow the behavior. Although it might be cathartic, I don't believe they need to publicly flog the dipshit and I really don't think they deserve to be flogged either. Remember, Barack released a statement yesterday too. No one should ever have to apologize for expressing concern for a victim of any violence, even when later it turns out the violence was imaginary.
