Ultimate Dream Headline: President Obama to visit Ireland!
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 07:50 PM by Jackeens_for_Obama
I was watching Irish TV earlier tonight and they showed clips of one of Bill Clinton's visits to Dublin when he addressed a huge and slightly rapturous (!) crowd in the city centre, so I came over all nostalgic and weepy.

A couple of years ago Bush came here but the security was enormous, the biggest the country had ever seen, and the public wasn't allowed anywhere near him, such was the level of loathing for the man.

Any way, tonight I just imagined what it would be like if Obama visited Ireland as President and it made my spine tingle.

Please understand me, I know with all my heart that the first, second and last thing that matters here is that America gets a President to be proud of, a man of Obama's quality who can get to work lifting you all up, fixing the economy, etc - I'm not for a minute saying that how he's perceived abroad is more important than any of that.

But, as I and many of you have said here before, there will, without doubt, be a Kennedy-esque rapture in most parts of the world about an Obama administration, and that can only lead to so much good. So, again, the red carpet's waiting for you in Dublin, President Obama. :-)

1. My friends Paul and Rory
are Dubliners - born and raised.

I thank you for your vision - along with them. And get this - they're both Finance guys! Tiger economy and all! Last discussion with both was that the mood in Dublin is good for Obama!

Maybe since he's got the luck of the Irish! :pals:

2. O'bama is Irish

His great great grandfather came from County Offaly in central Ireland.

What a great party it will be when he goes to Ireland.

4. Just there this summer and the Irish are in love, as we are. Gave away O'Bama shamrock buttons...
to great appreciation. Never made it to Moneygall, though.

That map that shows the world in blue except for four/five small countries for McCain, including Cuba. Believe it's Financial Times.
