I voted for Obama and told my RW friend - His response |
|
"Doesn’t take much to see why you wasted your vote. If you think you are paying too much for taxes now you haven’t seen anything yet."
Does he really believe this? Is it possible he is in the $250,000 bracket? He is unemployed and his wife is a school teacher - no trust fund.
What does he think McCain can do for him?

2. My coworker voted for McCain because "Obama wants to kill babies |
|
that survive abortions". You can't reason with these people!

4. Call his bullshit. I know from experience, if he is a teacher with one income |
|
He doesn't PAY income taxes. Not unless he's got money coming from somewhere else. When the kids were young, my wife stayed at home to avoid daycare costs. We always got all of our money back at the end of the year.

11. Actually there are plenty of indep sites that have figures as well |
|
Your suggestion though is the best. I'd send him a link and then drop it. If he's too big a fool to figure out or admit he's wrong, then let him vote for McCain.

7. In 1992 Bill Clinton promised a middle class tax cut |
|
He reneged on the promise before he was even inaugurated. I realize that the Bush people covered up the size of the deficit on the way out of the White House, but Clinton's abandonment of this campaign promise did long-term damage to Democrats' credibility on taxes.
Most likely, though, this guy is just ignorant.

8. I'm surprised sometimes at how thorough the right-wing brainwashing has been on many people.... |
|
..... A guy from high school I know - nice guy, well-informed about a lot of things not involving politics - who worships at the altar of Reagan, even though his dad, an autoworker, was unemployed several times in the late '80s (when we were in high school) during Reagan's unionbusting era, and whose uncle was one of the air traffic controllers Reagan sent packing.
I've given up trying to understand.

12. Make him bet you something regarding comparing taxes not this coming tax season but the one after... |
|
This coming tax day will still be under the influence of Pres. Bush and the 110th Congress; wait until the tax legislation of Pres. Obama and the 111th Congress is activated.

13. He does cheat on his taxes and has bragged about it to me. I do know he was audited several years |
|
ago.
It is really his wife who is my close friend. I like her very much but she is blinded by him. He can do no wromg. I often wonder what has kept him out of the slammer.

14. Well, none of us can help you with that, but at least you can be honest about your taxes. |
|
He's wrong about Obama's tax plans, you win. He openly admits to cheating on his taxes, you still win.

There's probably a good reason why he's an unemployed mooch.
