3. I'm gonna bury my ass in work.
I have three long, hairy forensic psych evals to do, and a third one in the wings. Two of them have to be done in the next week. I also have my normal bunch of patients scheduled.

I'll take my breaks on DU.

27. Yeah, but the Avs sucked when we beat them.
;)

Though to be honest, that was one of the only bad games the Bruins have played so far. They have these lapses for just a few minutes per game where they fall behind. They've already been down 3-0 twice (battled back to tie both games, only to lose in the shootout) and 2-0 tonight (they won this one). It's a good sign that they can battle back, and they have the offense to win a lot of games, but they need to start winning the shootouts. They've been getting killed the last couple of years with that, and they need to start winning these if they're going to step up to the next level.

I wish I could watch the Avs more often. I've always liked them (I liked them when they were in Quebec even), and I tend to root for them over any Western team than other than Chicago. Sakic is one of my favorites, and has one of the best wrist shots I've ever seen. Plus he seems like a very classy guy.

Oh baby don't it feel like heaven right now
Don't it feel like somethin' from a dream
Yeah I've never known nothing quite like this
Don't it feel like tonight might never be again
We know better than to try and pretend
Baby no one could have ever told me bout this

The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part

19. My wife and I will continue to drive the stake deeper in their hearts by going door to door
for Barack here in Terre Haute, Indiana, with the hope that our state will finally turn beautifully BLUE!! This ONE >>>59 year old Union-loving retired "geezer" letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years isn't minding one bit hitting the sidewalks
once again to spread the vote for the need for positive CHANGE
in the direction of this country. And if everything goes as it SHOULD on Nov. 4th, we shall all rejoice with finally realizing freedom from being held hostage for 8 LONG painful years of war, greed, corruption, deception, dishonesty, intolerance, fear mongering and racism by the worst administration in the history of this nation. And...I will be watching Chris, Keith and Rachael on MSNBC in the evening.

13. I'm getting ready to hit the streets in Seattle
in case it all goes wrong. If I prepare for the worst it probably won't happen. And I don't want anyone out there telling me not be so negative or don't worry.....etc. etc. Because no one knows. Okay? And if it does go wrong then I'm not going to be sitting on my ass moaning and groaning.
So how am I really preparing? I'm getting together a whole bunch of dried and easy to eat food for my backpack, trying to contact others in the area to do a meet up, dealing with the logistics of a number of days' stay, and I don't know what else. Got to think hard about this one. Got to be realistic.
There's a little bit of reverse psychology going on here too. You know how things happen when you're not prepared? Well hopefully the reverse will be true.
Oh, and I renewed my passport and am doing research on "other" places to live.

16. I'm going to canvass my precinct to get them out for Obama and local candidates
I'm in AZ so I'm not real hopeful for Obama (though I would die of happiness on the spot if he won here) but we have some very important local races. State lege, Maricopa County Attorney (Tim Nelson is taking on incumbent idiot named Andrew Thomas), County Supervisor, and County Sheriff (Dan Saban vs. racist scumbag Joe Arpaio).

All I know is the fact that a lovely bottle of asti is chilling in my fridge right now. I expect to be celebrating with that bottle on the evening of Nov 4th.

22. Work, Fallout 3, sleep... repeat as necessary
I'm sick as a dog at the moment, so volunteering is on hold - I figured I'd better not infect the entire campaign office a week before the election.

It also doesn't help that I'm an insomniac, so I have even more time to kill than normal.

29. I got a call from the local Obama headquarters
I plan to do some phone banking there. I'm clearing my schedule right now and explaining to my family that dinner is their responsibility. I may even take a day or two off of work. It's just like the final weeks of a pregnancy-better to keep busy than to sit around waiting.

Sorry for that analogy if it offends anyone.

32. My nerves are already shot. The next 9 days are going
to be nearly unbearable. I find myself crying at the drop of a hat, feeling anxious for no apparent reason, and positively obsessed with political websites. My husband came home from work last night with an Obama hat for me, and I just lost it (my composure, not the hat!!!) I need a tranquilizer!
