O'Reilly considers running against Hillary in 2006 (NY DAILY NEWS)
O'Reilly, running man?

Will Bill O'Reilly be a factor in the 2006 Senate race in New York State?

The Fox News Channel personality, host of the top-rated "O'Reilly Factor," occasionally gets mentioned as a possible Republican opponent to Sen. Hillary Clinton - and the speculation usually goes no further.

But I'm told that in recent days, O'Reilly, a registered independent, has confided to friends that he's seriously considering a run.

In one conversation over the past two weeks, I hear that O'Reilly even ruminated about whether he should endorse Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry - the better to position himself as a moderate Republican in a majority-Democrat state.

24. I'm not a psychiatrist. . .
but I've got to agree with you. He truly seems to believe that he's all that! He's completely gone around the bin if he thinks he could be a politician. He does realize that you can't tell opponents to "Shut Up?" doesn't he? That he can't edit opponents and even reporters as they try to ask him questions during the course of the campaign like he does guests on his show? There's no pre-taping in real life!

Plus, he's way too much a selfish bastard, and being a senator, means you have to help people...he won't do it

9. He would be an easy target
even if he is popular among the uninformed. Of course, who knows if there will be elections in 2006 should the repubs win? What kind of emergency will exist?

11. Please Please Please!!!!
First, he'd be faced with a "Springer" situation. He'd have to decide to either be TV talk show god or candidate. That'd be like asking a junkie to jump off the horse. Springer couldn't, do you think Ego O'Reilly really could live without that one hour of his TV treehouse?

Then I'm sure there's skeltons in Mr. O's closet that are kept that way while he plays TV star that would be swept away if he became a candidate and lost that daily podium to grandstand (ala Rush).

I'd love to see O'Reilly campaign in the Hispanic neighborhoods or Harlem. ROFLMAO.

But then think of all the amusement he'd create. He'd surely shoot his pie hole like Alan Keyes and the further he'd get behind in the polls the looser the cannon would get. Surely, Governor Pataki & Mayor Bloomberg would surely campaign beside him...NOT!

But then, NY DUers...who else does the GOOP have to run against Hillary? King? He'd be a hoot. Pataki? NFW.

13. Oh, GEEZ...his temperament is about as "cool"
as Mike Ditka's! Ditka at least had the sense to know his temper was NOT conducive to politics. Neither is SHUT UP!Bill O'Lielly's. He'd lose it the first time Hillary said something he didn't like. What a fool!

20. NOT a good idea.....
I honestly question the sanity of this man. What happens when a sociopath egomaniac loses? And loses to a woman? A woman he hates? In the public eye?

I see him on a tower with a semi-automatic somewhere.

Sure, these wingnut talking heads will say the most vile things about her, but I doubt they'd dare say any of it to her face.

Hillary's a hardass, and I'm sure she could shred many of these fools in a straight-on debate. She's not one to underestimate.
