Some folks remind me of the people that second guessed Bill Walsh and Joe Montana |

in the leadup to Superbowls no less! :eyes:
here we have a candidate in Obama who has made good decision after good decision, has been strategic, has fought back and has in the process retained his dignity.
hit with bad news in March (Wright), Obama handled a tough situation with grace and with deftness. after a rough summer, Obama stormed back and ran the most picture perfect unified DNC i have ever seen in my life --no small feat considering the bruising primary that preceded it.
and here we are, with a terrific candidate, who fights back and plays offense better than any we've had in years. he is fighting for every state, yet his campaign is strategic in knowing which ones to really count on. he's gone after the rural vote, the suburban vote.
he's gone after every vote he could get and been aware enough to avoid overplaying his hand, avoiding that in order to get voters without losing other voters in the process.
he has raised money in small contributions, and he in his phonebanking is supporting downticket candidates.
all you worrywarts, for Pete's sake, there's a reason you are not running Obama's campaign...because you could not and cannot do a better job than the crew running it right now.
we've got an excellent team, and incredible coach and incredible enthusiasm and it's amounting to a lead and a party rout in a week or so.
of course i want more, but what candidate of ours (other than incumbents) would trade where they were with where Obama is right now, even if it meant taking on his disadvantages? not one of them i think except perhaps Roosevelt. that's going a long way back.
take heart and if you're worried, volunteer and help the campaign --regular folks have more responsibility in this campaign than any run in my lifetime.
be contructive and stop getting people down.

1. Exactly and meanwhile, McKKKlan's campaign runs its campaign using FReepers |
|
and the RW lunatic fringe hate talk radio recommendations for their primary strategy.
When my mother mentioned last night about hearing some lunatic on the radio (she has always monitored "the other side") going on about the birth certificate nonsense, I had to explain to her how that and other smears have rolled around the internet and how McKKKlan's idiotic campaign staff have actually USED the suggestions from FReeperville and other unsavory places to actually run their campaign.
I think McKKKlan's campaign effort is a text-book case of how NOT to run a campaign nor listen to the wild suggestions from anonymous posters on the internet.

2. We'll win but I am kind of glad that people are nervous about it, it will keep people vigilant. |

Can I say that I had the biggest crush on Joe Montana when I was younger? I know that isn't exactly relevant but man was he hot.
