Un-freaking-believable.

http://www.mydesert.com/article/20081026/OPINION01/810260308/1004/opinion

It looks like it was taken from a McCain campaign pamphlet. This is the paper in a community that is about 40% gay and lesbian. However, it is so slanted to the right that it's about to fall off the end of the earth.

McCain has a long and documented record of leadership. He has taken courageous positions in opposition of his party's leaders, he has fought and sacrificed dearly for this country, and he has the political experience, both foreign and domestic, needed to bring about the type of change Americans want during one of the most uncertain times in our history.

And it goes downhill from there -- even including the meme that all Obama has ever done is "give a speech."

3. From the endorsement
"He has not been tested."

Not all tests in life involve being a POW. If they did then most of America is lacking.

Life's tests come in many forms, as varied and diverse as the people tested. It isn't the nature of the test but how you respond that ultimately matters.

Obama's family showed him how to respond. They reached down to this child of a broken marriage and gave him love and an outstanding education.

Obama himself responded to a difficult early life with perseverance and strength which he no doubt learned from the strength of his family.

When he seemingly reached his personal "mountain top" after graduating Harvard he turned his back on riches and gave back to the community through action all the while continuing to fulfill his obligations to family.

John McCain learned about privilege. An Admirals son, he won a place in the Naval Academy through that privilege. His metal was soon tested in Viet Nam and he proved to be tough. Later he saw profit in that "heroic" story and used it as a stepping stone to fulfill his own needs, all the while turning his back on the family that needed him.

Yes Obama has a "good speech" and McCain has a good story. One of them has been tested and proved his metal all his life and remains true to his family and his country before himself.

That man is going to be the next President of the United States, Barack Obama!

5. Have you read the comments on there?
LOL.. looks like they are going to be losing some subscribers. Out of all of them that I've read so far only one person agrees.

6. Some editorial boards/publishers around the country are really exposing themselves.
Several papers in Ohio, including the Columbus Dispatch, endorsed McCain. For many of their readers this is the last straw. And papers wonder why more and more people are using the internet instead.
