Poll question: Which McCain campaign gimmick was most ridiculous?
Edited on Sun Oct-26-08 06:36 PM by K8-EEE
Not really talking about the usual GOP tactics (Be Afraid! It's a c-c-commie! Oh noes!) but things that are unique to McCain's epic fail campaign.

4. LOL - they're all completely ridiculous! It's like a VERY BAD political novel!
But I'll go with the bogus campaign suspension because it REALLY backfired on him.

Although it didn't last for long.

The biggest gimmick was Palin.

13. The campaign suspension...
That was an act of supreme stupidity. Did he really expect people not to see it for what it was... a very lame stunt.

18. I read his downfall started big time when he went
around like a chicken on Ex Lax.."suspending the campaign", "cancelling Letterman" "postponing the Debate" "flying to Washington and getting bush to call Obama there too"..all that stuff that reeks of chickenshit.

21. other...I picked "the big push" in PA
they tried to start a nationwide press feeding frenzy with their bold charge into a big blue state.
then they tried to start a nationwide race riot by either creating or exploiting a vicious racist hoax.
then the former GOP governor got in the news saying that the McCain's VP nominee cost them any chance at HIS state.

when they left with their tails between their legs, Obama's lead was darkening the doors to 15 percentage points.

25. Remember the "Gas Tax Pander", that one defined all three candidates.
McCain and Obama's opponent demonstrated their ability to shamelessly lie to the public.

Only Obama was able to risk telling the unpopular truth.

That defined McCain AND Obama and the distinction is emblematic of this entire year, primaries and the GE; negative campaigning does NOT work as well as the TRUTH.

Almost universally singled out in newspaper endorsements of Obama.

The suspension was second most ridiculous.
