Barney Frank Opposes Obama's Plan To Increase Number of Troops
I read somewhere that Barney Frank proposes a decrease in the number of compbat troops and spending. Well, it is interesting that Frank would openly oppose Obama's proposal to increase the number of active troops:

Expand to Meet Military Needs on the Ground: Barack Obama and Joe Biden support plans to increase the size of the Army by 65,000 soldiers and the Marines by 27,000 troops. Increasing our end strength will help units retrain and re-equip properly between deployments and decrease the strain on military families.

3. We're spread too damn thin, Barney.
Meanwhile we have no National Guard to speak off because they're off fighting in foreign lands.

4. Red Herring?
McCain is constantly saying the Obama never opposes his own party. Wonder if Barney is doing this to create a talking point for the Obama Campaign.

8. That's what I immediately thought - more troops is the R talking point, throughout
the history of their greed...it takes the "tested in 6 months" off the table.....

5. Doesn't this help refute McCain's allegations
that Obama is not willing to disagree with his party on some issues? As if most of McCain's allegations are in imminent danger of being true, of course.

7. They don't need more soldiers ...
... they need more robots patrolling the streets of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

9. Shrug...Gives Obama a chance to look like a strong on defense "maverick".
It boosts his commander-in-chief cred and lets him disagree with someone in his own party at the same time.

10. Good.
And have opportunity to explain his reasoning, if anyone asks.
