Hope it gets better soon. Look at the bright side...those Republican dirtbags can gloat now, but on November 4th, it'll be our day at long last.

Sorry to hear about the tough times. Although it may not seem like much consolation, things WILL get better -- promise -- and you'll look back at this sad time without feeling any pain or bitterness. Anyway, don't know you but here's a shout out to you. And just think how DAMN HAPPY you'll be on November 5th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things will work out for you, hey it seems to me like guys are outnumbered by ladies by at least 2 - 1 on DU, so you're in a good place.

They are great in their simplicity. They only worry about food and sleep and appreciate the attention you give. In a volatile life, they are welcome constants. :-)

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope you'll feel better by the time November 4th rolls around. There's something about a Repuke presidency that makes you depressed even BEFORE bad things happen. :(

My wife moved out on the 1st, we've been together 6 years and married for over 4. I have barely lifted a finger to clean, have still not gotten finances figured out much less how I'm gonna afford this house by myself (I can't move, have a dog and 2 cats and have no motivation to do anything at this point.)
But I think I'll probably feel better after Obama wins, and I can probably reduce my addiction to DU and get some stuff done.

for November 4th. Lots of people will be in a good mood. It won't take the pain away from the break-up of a 6 year relationship but you never know what good democrat you might meet there.

Just keep thinking how elated you will be when Obama wins!
Life can be very hard, but if you hang in long enough, you'll get to a curve in the road where the scenery changes.
Keep your chin up. You'll be feeling much better on November 5th!

But I know for sure that when one door closes another one opens. I also know that when a slew of shitty stuff happens it means a bunch of new good stuff is about to come. Just hang on tight on the roller coaster ride down because you're really just going to shoot back up again.

32. Similar thing happening to me. |
|
Girlfriend of 11 years decides that my buying a house for us to live in was too much of a commitment. Decides that having a job is too much responsibility. Decides that she needs to go off on her own and discover herself. Decides that she's ok just leaving me for dead after 11 years. Decides to go and do all of the things I was asking her to do while in a relationship, on her own. I can't tell if I'm dealing with the loneliness, (which sometimes creeps up on you like death at the end of the day), or just suppressing it. I feel strong, and horribly weak all at he same time. All I can tell you is spend time with friends, and go out. Any reminders of the person you were with, get rid of them. Keep yourself busy if you can. Go out and meet new people. I've heard people say to wait, and not get involved with someone else. I say go on and do it if the opportunity arises. Even if it doesn't work out, it gets you out of old habits, it's a nice distraction, and reinforces that there are truly other fish in the sea...

Been there. DO something. Take a walk. Take a nap. Put on some music. Plan a trip with a friend. Read a book. Go see that new movie/rent your favorite movie.
Life can bring some horrible hurts. Find the small joys and take care of yourself.

The Guest-House
This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture.
Still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice - meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.
