Obama is supporting a payroll tax cut, which everyone pays. The right wing is turning this into an income tax argument. Oddly, all their tax policies benefit the wealthy (the AMT, income tax, dividend tax, estate tax, corporate tax). A payroll tax cut that benefits the middle class is welfare though. It'd be less infuriating if there weren't 100 million americans stupid enough to believe the RW talking points.
