I was thinking today that should Obama get elected, there will be a lovely Republican primary season in 2011.
One thing we learned from the extended dual-party primaries this past year is that in some states, you can vote for either party in the primaries. I know that I'm not registered with any party affiliation in South Carolina, so I believe I may be able to vote in the primary election in 2011 for a Republican candidate.
Assuming a field of candidates, including the likes of Huckabee, Romney, Palin and some others... The key will be to vote for the Republican who is least likely to win a General Election, while at the same time factoring in which one wouldn't totally kill this country right out of the gate (a la Palin).
Frankly, I think Romney is the best out of the limited choices above. He's got enough intelligence, but I sincerely believe a Mormon will never be able to carry the south.
Assuming it's 2011, who do you think would be the most "safe" Republican candidate to put up against President Obama, and what's your logic?

1. My strategy is to focus all of my energy on hoping Obama and Dems will do. . . |

a great job governing.
Nothing will seal our fate better than success. Obama has a fantastic opportunity to be a great president, as he is juxtaposed to perhaps our worst president ever.
I have very high expectations. Very, very high.
