People are always getting killed in Chicago. They are always getting killed in a lot of places. How much emotive energy are you going to spend over every one.
Life is cheap in many areas of the globe. Darfur, the Middle East, Rwanda, Chicago, the average American Planned Parenthood clinic just to name a few.
Anywhere you have Socialist ideology you will find life is cheapened. They surround themselves with it, ergo, they get it.
